Jeem rip soah! I am at the school Anisa works at, sitting in the middle of her classroom surrounded by 7th graders. I feel right at home. To my left a student is listening to Vanilla Ice and to the right there's Bob Marley. Anisa teaches computer lab and since school's almost out for summer the students are not really doing any work. They're 7th graders, just like the ones I taught in Boise. This morning after Anisa left for school I took a walk around her neighborhood and stopped by the Russian Market. I still don't know what's Russian about it. Everything seemed distinctly Cambodian to me. I bought some hot-weather clothes and some mangos. Hello Everybody, Anisa promised me my first lesson in Cambodian when I get back to the apartment, so hopefully I will at least be able to say Hello in Khmer for my next entry. My flights were very calm and uneventful and Anisa managed to skip out of school during lunch to pick me up at the airport in the school's van. I am at the internet "cafe" about two blocks from her apartment. It's a very nice apartment, though a little stuffy in the heat. As expected it is very hot and humid here, though not unbearable. We'll see if I change my opinion of that when I start walking around in it more. We had dinner on a touristy street overlooking the Mekong, where I watched an elephant walk by on the sidewalk. Hello Everybody, This is a trial run for my blog. If you don't want to be on the list, or know of somebody who should be added, please email me and let me know. I am currently at my aunt and uncle's house in Seattle, trying to get the last few things taken care of. I spent a wonderful weekend with them and my cousins and grandma at my aunt's lake house. In another twelve house I will be at the airport, ready to board the plane for Cambodia. Actually, I'll be going to Taipei, where hopefully I will be able to find the plane for Cambodia in the hour and ten minutes that I have for my layover.
