A step down from clubbing in Pt Macquarie?
So does that mean they didn't even have pot plants to dance with? Love the blogs, keep 'em coming. Keep safe.

Weather in Lima
Well, in Lima is kind of cool at the moment (relatively speaking). During the day its about 20C, but in the evening it cools down around 10C +- there is not too much sun about because of the fog/could syndrome. Hope this helps..... As for the rest of Peru, it really depends on where you are going Iquitos (jungle) or Cuzco (Andes )...... I was up on Mt. Chichani at about -15C so if you are the more adventurous type, bring your thermals!! :-)

Now you rubbing it in
Mate, Great to see that you have found your own little sanctuary over in Lima. Please make sure that you feed the kids and leave them some money for them before leaving town. Never know how long till you see them again, unless you have decided on setting up shop.

Craig, Top marks on confronting those heights!!(UUHHH just the thought of being at those altitudes). And that incredibly macarbe discription of "How to shrink a Head"...step by step process..in great detail.....we're becoming seriously concerned, down here....but..... Can't wait for the next episode. S.America truly is "something else"...

Ecuador: The High Life
Not the high life for those with acute altitude sickness...Not the high life if one is indigenous (35-40% of the population without the taking into account the fair amount of under reporting who are apparently 'shockingly' poor)... The high life if you are part of the criollo elite (sadly, a product of the conquest of the Spanish and partly, assimilationist policies) or a criminal on the run apparently...The high life for travellers who try out the night life (mate, more details and pix the next time we meet lol)...Ecuador, not so high after all???

Hey, brother. I'd like to make a request that I don't receive blog notices while I'm doing homework ... especially when snow flurries are forecasted in just a few days! Man, what I wouldn't give trade places with you. I have a feeling your travels are going to pull me through the winter. --Andy

Highway Robbery!
Yeah, well it leaves a very unsettled feeling in the pit of your stomach.... for a few days! I felt quite safe in Xela though. I guess you cannot paint the whole country with one brush! I think the real problem with GC is that the Mafia are running the police (great, NOT!).

Guatemala Serenity
Yeah Yoges, Guatemala has only recently (in the last 10 years) ended 33 years of civil war! I mean this basically tore the country apart and well the road to recovery is very long. Picture a country without a public hospital system or social security (today). If you dont have money and you get sick, well you die.... its that simple.

"GuateGuateGuate!!!"
I love the way the bus drivers advertise their destination. It's a good thing I didn't hear the story of the Swiss girls when I was there. My three-week vacation would have turned into three days, as I would have hired a private driver and body guards. No worries on the time between posts.

Highway out of the Danger Zone
Guatemala city sounds scary. It is not surprising that civil disorder has been rife considering the fact that the powers over there have been treating the substantial indegenous population in Guatemala like crap until quite recently. I also understand that there is a "slight" earthquake problem!!! Well, you are out of there in one piece with some interesting if not relatively traumatic memories... thats the main thing, I suppose. Having said that, I must say that Sheila looked good! But then again, they always do don't they?!? Mate, are you going to do the rest of Central America at all or are you saving it for another life? It would seem to be the former considering that you are headed off to Ecuador. Hope the Nobia is better. Haven't heard from her so I suppose all (including your place) must be well. Take care, mein Freund...

The whole wide world!!
Yeah... tell me about it... when you start traveling to some of these places and talking to the locals in a mixture of broken spanish and english, immersing yourself in their culture, well im not sure what to say, you just have to do it!!

A whole wide world out there
Guten Tag! Its only when you take the time to stop for a while and think (in your case, travel) that you are reminded of the relatively massive size and diversity of this planet. Street salsa, merengue, andean folk music etc...all too alien for me. Could learn to live with it given the time and incentive, i'm sure. Watch the mozzies though, something a bit more close to home:-)

I have not been captured by the natives!
HOLA! Hombres and Senoritas..... i went off the air for a bit there, mainly because i left Mexico, and spend some time in Belize (the diving was most excellent) and am now in Guatemala..... The Internet access in some of these parts has been scratchy but it is better now so i will endeavour to get up to date with the log!!

Its been about a week, do we press the panic button or should we just assume that Brucederos has in typical fashion found a nice senorita as a travel guide??? Tay, no worries we can always arrange something once Craig is back

High educated individual
Actually, contrary to Yogi's comments, I've heard that them Mexican's are all a bunch of rednecks. You'd fit right in with the racist and political satirical jokes....albeit that you might lose your head..but they probably will find it funny.....but not about the jokes though. Love ya work Brucederos. Can't say I wish to be there......but your travels certainly makes it a great read in the morning. Keep well sunshine!
