Cooee! Hiya 'Nel, have had a good time catching up on your blogs - seems there is an an extensive time lag, maybe you are the next Time Lord . Thank you for my birthday card, if I haven't said Ta for it already. XX
Amazing places, wonderful views Always so interesting, Nells, but my favourite shot this time has to be the condors - only time I've ever seen pictures of them before is in flight! So this is what they do in between....mmm... don't think they'd think much of the British bird bath :-)
I'z bin watchin'! Hi there Elinor, just to let you know I have been reading your blogs with great interest, the Andes at night is one of the few places on this planet that i would really go with telescope in hand! it must be the most stargazin' place on earth. I am so glad that you are enjoying the local hospitality everywhere you go, wine seems to figure in most of your activities....mmmmm...go for it !!!!
Hola! Or 'Ay up lass' depending on which side of the Equator you are! Now then Nell, hope you are doing well! how is your pet amoeba, has it grown any hair yet? We are both well and have just returned from Sicily. Its a beautiful island but abit local for you, I'm sure! Keep the blogs coming, I know they are behind but very interesting all the same XX
Hi Ellepasso - Just lost 30 mins reading this last blog. Well done on all the pix as well as the writing. Am sure I\'d have given up and screamed at the download glitches or delays. Can\'t believe it\'s as easy as finding an internet cafe with a pc that's free and then sitting down and it all works!
Are you interested to know that the scenery in San Carlos de Bariloche and the lakes area reminds me of N Zealand? Now you can avoid NZ with confidence or go there too for another fix.
Safe home - guess it\'s all too soon?
love - Julia (and Edmund)
in the night sky What is pisco? The cross is very industrial looking, not quite sure myself. Star gazing sounds amazing, shame you can't take photos of it. And what is it with dogs following tourists around?? looking forward to next installment xx
What fabulous views, wouldn't have made the climb myself being a scardy cat, so well done. Again fab people giving you a lift, did you start putting on an american accent? xx
Finally catching up with your blogs! What fab people you are meeting, glad someone is looking after my pal. After taking the train to get away from the bus am guessing this was a frustrating although adventurous ride. xxx
Turning pages Nearly into June! Thank goodness your are static for a wee while to allow you to catch up. The observatory sounds incredible, certainly a place to visit again if you ever can, that's not to take away the other sites you have visited which you have obviously enjoyed. Looking forward to the next installment as ever.
Magnificent blog It's just like travelling with you, Elinor, us little couch trekkers! Thank you for the huge effort you are putting in, even though it's obviously as much for you being able to remember everything as for us to enjoy. It really is a treat and I can hardly wait for the next installment.
Buenos dayas! Looks brill, keep on sending the blogs they are a good read. How many doughnuts did you eat? If your camera is up to it, some panoramic shots would be worth it. Love Uncle Stephen and Auntie Rachel.XX
Loving the blog! Am torn between wishing I was there and being thankful I'm not! Mostly wishing I was though! Maybe when Ed goes off to uni and Jonny and I embark on our own gap year? Can't wait to hear more!
Bringing back memories. It's been very interesting reading your blog so far, bringing back memories of both Buenos Aires and Colonia del Sacramento (we didn't get as far as Montevideo). I'll look forward to reading more.
Sorry we stole the sun! Been glorious weather here, sorry we had to send some rain over! I am having to brush up on my geography to follow where you are going with each blog! Loving the detailed descriptions of places, can't wait for photos. Don't like the idea of those taxis, have you actually screamed yet? Keep safe xxxx
Hailing from York in England, I'm a past resident of Edinburgh and London. I'm embarking on a long-held dream to tour South America, having got a taste for for travel with shorter trips to New Zealand and Cuba. I've no doubts it's going to change me...Fascinating and diverse cultures, a dance scene that I cannot wait to indulge in and landscapes to blow the mind. All I can hope is that my blog does it justice!!!!... full info
