Journey's end You are getting close to home now and It has been a wonderful journey. It is kind of like watching Coronation street...knowing the characters and looking forward to what each new day brings with the twists and unexpected turns. Please come home safe, we all look forward to having you back in the fold.
Almost there We have had a wonderful trip but it will be nice to get home and sleep in our own bed again and see family and friends. We are spending Thanksgiving with my kids and then home sweet home on Tuesday. I hope you have a great Thanksgiving!
Nova Scotia Have really enjoyed your commentary through Nfld and Nova Scotia Eileen. They are now on our bucket list. Larry sounded spooky, I agreed with Tim. Lets go NOW!!!!!
Maritimes The Maritimes are all so beautiful, Stuart. We loved Nfld for its ruggedness and unique culture. We loved NS for its stunning geography, tides and music. We loved both for the friendliness of the people. I do hope you get to go there someday.
Peggy's Cove & Tim Jane visited Peggy's Cove in the 80's and to this day still raves of it's beauty. it is on the bucket list.
I'm sure Tim will need some sort of counselling after that Couchsurf. Da da ding da da din danda ding ding ding......
Fiddler I googled Dave MacIssac, and he really is very good. I wonder if there is a relation to Ashley MacIssac, also a famous fiddler, although younger?
Tears! What a wonderful post - it brought tears to my ears reading the story of Amelia through someone else's words. Thanks Eileen and Tim for reminding us how lucky we are to have out little brown eyed girl.
leaving is hard Tim and Eileen, I feel the melancholy in your words as you leave the rock. I have enjoyed reading your posts and your poetic written words, it has all lead to an emotional connection, yet again, with the east coast. This has been a trip of a lifetime and I know it is not over yet, so I look forward to reading about your adventures on the homebound trip. Cheers
They ARE Naomi bars!! That's hilarious - we were just laughing at this when we were home to NL last month, how we grew up calling them "Nie-O-mee" bars and it wasn't until I moved to the mainland that I learned other people called them (maybe correctly?!) Nanaimo Bars. Regardless, a damn good square!
That IS hilarious! That's so funny, Chantelle. Obviously that's a Newfie pronunciation. Just another reason to love the Newfies. A few days ago, we were staying with my cousin in Port Perry Ontario and we started talking about the places that we had Coachsurfed. Somehow it came up that Ray works at the Halifax library and so does my cousin's friend Cheryl Black. Cheryl knows Ray. Is that not a bizarre coincidence? It's a small world. Hope you guys are doing well.

Wish you were here! Thanks, Barb. I am so happy to share our amazing adventures with you. I've only taken about 3000 pictures so far. I am getting quite behind on my blogs. So much to see and say!
Now I'm hungry I think they go to shurts on Sunday, not for redemption, but to give their digestive system and arteries a break. The food sounds soooo tasty although I hope there was lots of fruit to eat so you didn't get scurvy from all the salted cod, beef and pork.......although not a bad way to get scurvy......you can always eat an orange in Nova Scotia..
We are 50-something and ready to see the world! We want to dive into every culture and meet the inhabitants of this wonderful planet. How much we all have to learn from each other! Let's go!... full info
