Cotopaxi Wow! What a beautiful and incredible story! YOU DID IT!!!
The pictures that struck me the most are the shadow of Cotopaxi and "Thankfulness." They brought a little bit of awestruck tears to my eyes!
You rock! You rocked.....on a rock....wait, does that mean you rocked THE rock? Whatever the case, congratulations!
Sounds like.... Your descriptions of the internal and physical trials you experienced sound very similar to my experience of labor. Likewise, your description of the strength you feel you gained from the experience applies to labor as well.
Mindo Wow! What an incredible journey! I love all the pictures. It looks so beautiful there and I can't believe those butterflies would land right on you! I also can't believe you actually drank the water! Didn't your mama teach you anything?
Next time, take me with you!
Flower-2 looks like impatients, flower-3 like hibiscus. We all have those in southeast Texas! Could be the same heat and humidity factor ! Am in the Yucatan now and hibiscus are everywhere. All your pictures are pretty and you have a great blog. Patt aka pattusa
Love Ecuador Hi, I read ur blog and I couldn't believe that I grew up in Quito and never did that hike. I will be there again soon and would like to know if u contacted ur guide at Secret Garden? or how did u arrange a guide and also, if possible, a price. Thanks a Lot and enjoy my beautiful and unique Ecuador! Gracias.
Hi Gus and cousin Celeste! I think we should go on one of these float trips together sometime! Maybe Aunt Nancy will lead us! Henry, see how much you inspire us all?
It's so amazing how much you enjoyed a trip that doesn't include the luxuries and comforts that our culture says are necessary for happiness. That is one of the awesome things about going forward as the Spirit leads!
Deep Thoughts Your post was very deep this time....made me want to bust out of my limited horizons....and stuff.....or.....um...let me think about that one.
I'm surprised that despite the detailed reading of your future, they neglected to tell you WHEN you might get married in the red tux to the ticket-taker girl...?? I'd ask for my money back.
Float trip So, why didn't any of you guys brave sleeping in the great outdoors to make more room in the tents? Just a thought.
Great pictures--looks like a lot of fun. Ah, man bonding!
What a wonderful trip Looks like you had quite a lovely trip down the river. Aunt Nancy is glad you had a great time and very much wants to go on the same river trip sometime. Next time you're in California, maybe Bob can take you kayaking on the Napa River. It won't be quite the same - no bald eagles, for example - but at least you'd be on the water.
Chicago Nice pictures, as usual. When we were there seeing Matt graduate in April, we were quite surprised to see how beautiful Chicago is (having never been there before). It is especially pretty down by the Aquarium/downtown. I think you captured the sights well.
Ecuador The mountain pictures look so wild, free and alive. Beautiful, sweeping landscapes. Some of those clouds are really incredible. Great pictures, yet again!
Lovely Ecuador I enjoyed your photos. I was in Ecuador in 2005 and thought the flight in from Lima,Peru to Quito was the most fantastic ever with all the views of the mountains and the still steaming volcanoes. So beautiful...viva Sud America! Carolyn( aka blog name 'gunga').
Blow gun That blow-gun picture should be one of those "create a caption for this picture". "Frat hazing gone wrong", "Henry took some local herbs, and the rest is history", etc.
Ecuador That chicken picture is hilarious! The Secret Garden looks like such a beautiful place! Thanks again for the updates and the pictures. Keep them coming!
I enjoy traveling... meeting new people, experiencing new cultures, seeing amazing architecture and landscapes, and trying new food. I also like to learn from observing and listening to the people I meet along the way and hopefully make a few new friends.... full info
