-eric is a retired air traffic controller and joan is a partner in a law firm. -eric is trying to get joan to retire so they can travel more, but she's having a hard time walking away from her career.
More Custer State Park action today, Needles Hwy (slowly, lots of pics of the incredible scenery) & then the Wildlife Loop where buffalo and wild asses (!) came into the road to visit. Look for pics on Eric's page. Tonite we saw the Mt Rushmore light show, very moving. We are staying another day here in Custer to see the Crazy Horse Monument etc. Then on to Devils' Tower in W. Today we made it to the Black Hills, near Custer, after a day and evening in the Badlands--hiking and driving around--incredible scenery here in S. Dak. Traveled around Needles Hwy tonite in Custer State Park. We'll be here until Saturday, for Mt. Rushmore and other attractions, then on to Yellowstone.... read more
