The facts? I am 22 years old, female, Australian, Bachelor's degree, blue eyed, idealistic. I am currently travelling around Europe, a trip that required many awful hours in hospitality to save for.
I am currently in that moment, post-degree pre-reality, where one decides to start nesting or fly the coop entirely. I am the latter. I suppose it is all terribly clichéd, quarter-life crisis, coming of age, right of passage backpacking non-sense that we all go through. I freely acknowledge that fact but I still tend to think it is the individuals journey that counts. Every story is significant because it opens your mind and leads you somewhere new or even back to something old. I am hoping these moments and these experiences teach me something about the world and even something about myself. I guarantee you moody sketching, partying and stereotypical backpacker financial woes, but I also hope to find something genuine too. And so I am writing this blog as a place to reflect on my journey and as a sort of homage to young backpackers everywhere. Sure booze will be flowing, but as long as I type, there will be no black out!
