Don,it is a wonderful article.Even though everything said is not new to me,i read and read and never wanted to stop.i love to read articles written by foreigners about my beloved country.i wish to read many more of such articles.
Grandpa's experience I live in Baltimore and grow up in Cameroon(Mamfe). My mom is a memeber of the Presbyterian Church in Mamfe. I enjoyed reading your grandpa's writeup. I intend having my future kids go to cameroon for the experience and to see life from a different perspective.
January 22, 2006 Denny, it was quite an education to ready your account and your mother's account of your travels over Christmas in Cameroon. You both have a flair for words and description, so that it makes the countryside and people seem quite real. I can feel the jolts and jounces of those road ruts! The clothing is wonderfully colorful, thank you for all your photos. I firmly believe that all young children in the US should have to visit a poorer country in order to better appreciate what they have here, and hopefully to spur them onward to helping others.
Thank you for your insights. Barbara Hess
Remarks about Don's entry Don,
I never realized what a writer you are! That was such a clear, concise rendering of your trip and about Cameroon's history! It was so very, very interesting, and I couldn't stop reading til I got to the end, and it left me wanting more, more! I feel as if I went on this trip with all of you and I'm so thankful that I was allowed the privelege to read the Blog concerning it. Thanks to all of you for all of your hard work in putting this together. Lora
Thanks Thank you so much for sharing your trip with us. We pray so often for Tangye George and Patricia and their work. We are glad that God have been faithful for your trip and safe return. Blessings.
What a wonderful thing!!! Denny, I'm so thankful that you took the time to put together this Blog. It had to be one of the most interesting things I've ever read and it just pulled at my heart to read about the great needs in that country. Thank you again for sharing and I'll keep checking to see what you add to it, especially the pics. Those were great! It was awesome to see Don and Nancy in the traditional robes! And to see Don on the back of that motorcycle...what a site! God bless you dear one! Once again, thanks for sharing.
On Your Way Home Just wanted to say I have been praying for you all and especially for safe trip home. You stopped writing and I hope all is well. Perhaps you had no connection to the net. Talk to you soon. XXXOOO
CONGRAT Hello, my name is Suzanna from Hungary (EU), and I am very very excited to read all of your notices.
I am really interested because my loved one came from Cameroon, and was born Limbe as well as your family members perhaps.
Your family is wonderful, and I really enjoy to read your words because I have never been in Cameroon. My partner used to tell me things of Limbe and Cameroon too and I am looking forward to see it in person. Hope that time will come soon. If we will travel there I will make a blog too. :))))
Until I am hardly wait your NBs.....
Take care, please say a big HELLO to Cameroon for me. Thanks
God Bless!!!
Merry Christmas Sounds like a wonderful time and trip. I miss you especially at Christmas. Sounds like GSM activities are going well. Having a quiet day at home with Nick and calling friends and family to wish them a Happy Christmas. Took my 95 yr old friend to Christmas Service - it was all done by children. They had a live Manger scene and read the story and acted it out. She loved it - had a little healing and it was the true essence of Christmas for me. All of our snow melted it has been 40 degrees for a week. All is well. Wishing you great peace and praying for you daily - safety on your trip home. Love Pat
Packing for a family Your comments on "Hoping your husband and kids actually pack their own clothes" hit a chord with me. On one trip to Hawaii with my husband and 4 children, we had one suitcase filled with food. We arrived to find one daughter had packed tops but not shorts, and the other had not packed her underwear! The boys forgot to pack long pants and one restaurant wouldn't seat us with them in shorts! Sigh...
God Bless you and your family Denny, We are delighted to read of your adventures. Could you describe the food in the meal photo?
While in Guatemala and Peru, after laboriously typing messages only to have them disappear into the ether, I finally learned to type in word or a clip board and paste into the message. We look forward to your return home and a chance ot view your pictures.
Merry Christmas Hey all, sounds like a wonderful and sometimes hair raising time! Want to wish all of you a wonderful and Merry Christmas! We are thinking of you.
kids if there are 17 in her family you guys have some catching up to do.
we had snow yesterday afternoon and it is up to 34 today.
May He continue to bless your trip, Harold
happy travels Hi Denny, Joseph, Daniel, Ruth and Paul,
Glad you all made it safely, and that Paul wasn't whisked off to Guantanimo for the scissors debacle. Just letting you know we are thinking of you and the wonderful citizens of Camaroon. How nice to be able to touch some lives there. Bandit is being folded nicely into our family routine and is becoming friskier and friendlier as the days go by. He and I did some recon of the neighborhood, as we had snow turning to rain this am. No problem. Anyway peace and love this Christmas. Penelope and Angus knocked 'em dead at our Christmas pageant.
Love Greg, Anne, Penelope, and Angus
