Fed up of saying "wow" now... but how have we missed hearing from you guys. Actually, when it's all over, do you think you could just keep sending blogs anyway - kind of like pretend you are somewhere exotic (oh silly me, you will be!).
Thanks so much for the postcard - arrived yesterday! Would love to see the Argentinian Tango in the flesh - watching it on Strictly Come Dancing gives some idea of the passion and intricacy of the dance but I bet it's even better for real!
All well this end (well apart from the fact that I bought a Dualit Toaster and Simon made me take it back - can't think why, I mean, it was only £175...what's wrong with the man? He seemed to think it should have popped up on its own as well...)
Loved photo of the Toucan - glorious colour - typical boy and almost an equal for some of your shirts David!
Off to France tomorrow - can't think of a better way to spend a 43rd birthday (eek!). Saw Annie today - she's good. D, you chose a good one in Mandy M - she's cool. We all miss you loads.
Keep the blog coming and take care of each other.
Lots of love
Lynne & Simon xxxx
Hello from Perth Wow!!! You certainly are in God's country and seem to be having a holiday of a lifetime. I enjoy reading each and every one of David's posts and the pics are just amazing. I bet this is a far cry from SBC :) I'm glued to my seating waiting for the next chapter in your epic adventure.
All the best to you both for 2009.
Nicole
health and safety ......remember david and rebecca how important it is to think about health and safety at work but also at home (and on foreign trips doing dangerous things). I do not want to hear about you on the news so don't do anything that wouldn't trigger a hasle notice or toolbox talk.... - love you - Ruth xxxxx
For you, I grow it back!! (the above said in an Antonio Banderras accent a´la Shrek 2) Too late Clare - the weight of public opinion has seen the demise of ´the slug´, and a return to number two haircuts (just as well as my Spanish stops at quattro - whoever needs more than four beers!) We have seen enough sun to have a somewhat Zebra-like appearance in the showers these days in contrast to your enduring celtic approach to the effects of summer! Big hug for Roy and Grace!! DnRxx
A broken dishwasher will give Graham the chance to be useful in the kitchen once again ;-) We have reflected that merely leaning your lovliness on the Aga is not really a contribution you can rely on for too long! Glad to hear that Bron is keeping the cobblers of Britain employed - it looks like her 18th birthday present is going to be a pair of Jimmy Choos; best start saving Dawn! Stay out of the cold, and hit up the Skyscanner.net website for something to look forward too........ Love to all, and a big rib tickle for Jazz. DnR xxx
Warrington has different wildlife Lynne! LLama tastes okay, but Alpacca is the one to go for if its on offer - much more palatable I suspect than the beasties I recall wandering your home town!
The mixmaster is a classic boy-to girl gift: comfortably expensive, nicely mechanical and visible to audiences that need to be impressed. I bought one for Bec before we left for the same reasons......... Full marks to you though for originality when choosing an apple press!
Hope January blues are avoided for you on the basis of France booking..... will you get over 22 times like last year?? ;-) xxx
Happy New Year, trekkers extraordinaire! We're loving the blogs - we want you to know how much we enjoy catching up on your adventures. News of Machu Picchu and Galapagos all help us get our broken dishwashers and Christmas family traumas into perspective! We look forward to the next set of pikkies (presumably without the slug now, D?!) and futher tales from Chile.... Meanwhile, a very Happy New Year to you both, and thank you for brightening up our Christmas! PS Bron has another pair of new shoes, Bex!
Hairy Men Rule Sorry for the late entry, we have been at the beach for a week (and yes, I did not get a tan, just lots of additional freckles - I hate my Irish heritage). Still enjoying reading of your adventures, keep them coming, less references to me and alcohol though, please!! Love the facial hair but it may have already been erased by now. Still recoving from the shots of you dancing, not because I can tell if you move like Elaine, but just because YOU are dancing!! Take care, the Clarkes.
Lose it? so, full face shave recommended Adam? Have to say the novelty has worn offand next hot water day could see it vanish! Cheers for the birthday wishes too mate!
D
Liver reconditioning is about to start as booze is too heavy to cart whilst trekking - at least 4 if not 6 days on 3 litres of water/day should well and truly flush them out!! Hope the house move goes well - it should you have plenty of experience! Any chance of a photo of the new place?
Dxx
Dubious facial appendage seems 'the slug' I have had for a month now is getting bad press down under. Only yesterday I said to Bec it was on borrowed time - I think Father Xmas will miss seeing it!
Looking forward to the Stella and seeing you two again!
Dxx
Fluff Sorry....me again....Not sure about the growth on the chin.......I've always said to never trust a man with hair on his face. Whatever tickles your fancy though!!!
Looks more like one big birthday than a bus trip Hi guys,
You lucky buggers, great photos, i bet you hope it never ends, but your livers might!! Love the uni essay/commentry, it's just like being there ourselves.....wish we were, but we're moving home this week Yippeee. Stay safe, have fun cu soon. Rob O
and how Clare! wait til you read the next entry - you will laugh at how far our new benchmark has slipped! Now, a bed counts as luxury we are prepared to pay extra for.... We will have to take you camping again when we return..... I was telluing your 'tent story' from Stradbroke only a day or two ago - much amusement all round...... Dxx
you are brave souls... Wow, very much enjoying reading of your mishaps...adventures. Seriously, you are so much more adventurous than I ever good be. Roughing it for our last holiday involved relenting and partaking of the Winnie the Pooh ride!! Ray and I are certainly going soft in our old age and enjoy hot and cold everything as we travel (albeit, very infrequently). Looking forward to the next chapter.... Love the Clarkes.
Tortured blog follows more like... Why do you have to do this?! We all knew you were organising a trip we'd all love to be coming on, but then to send us regular updates, with fantastic photos and rather well written prose (especially for an Oz), well its just doing my head in! In contrast, we've had the excitement of having a new patio laid here, but I still haven't seen it yet due to it being dark and rainy 25 hrs a day.... Keep those blogs coming - it hurts but we love it! Miss you both.
Aaah yes - but Despite Bec wearing her lowest cut top we still didn´t manage to snag an upgrade to First Class - and a room with an ensuite AND hot water is now known as luxury. Don´t knock the Peak District - it´s where we would choose to live if we ever returned. Kiss for Jo, manly shoulder pat for you !
We only do it for scousers Cause they keep going back to the same place all the time ! Tho I am sure a staircase is fair compensation. Great to hear from you. ´Missing work like a hole in the head. Make sure to let us know how the Panto goes Cinders ' I want picures !
A tortured landscape Your latest title couldn't be further from the truth when reading your blog - I bored myself with the number of times I said "wow". It sounds awesome. I always remember every time we've snorkelled in the Caribbean that it's like being in a tropical fish tank but your experience with turtles, sea lions etc. just makes me feel inadequate! Jammy pair of b's I say. All well over hear - you'll be astounded to hear that it's cold, wet and miserable (difficult to believe I know). Was at NNG yesterday - joy unconfined. Was on holiday last week (again!) - we had a staircase fitted - now how many people can say that about their holiday eh? Bet you are dead jealous aren't you?!! RMT been talked into doing a panto next week at our 2 day RLG (wonder who did that? oh no she didn't!) I'm Cinders...and I will go to the flippin ball or there'll be hell to pay. Keep safe you two and keep having a fab time. Lots of love, your Scouse stalkers xxxx
Hi Guys We are back from sunny Egypt. It was superb! Brilliant time had by all and no tummy bugs! Hope the start of the South American portion of your trip is living up to expectations. Happy belated birthday and enjoy.
Hi Hi guys, looks like your having an entertaining time if nothing else! Looking forward to seeing some good photos of your trip. Alls good here, beautiful warm sunny days at the beach .... ahh
That Was The Week That Was! Wow - what a week to be in the States!! Great timing guys! Hope you're having a fantastic time - am enjoying the writing (great to read someone else's!).
Keep safe, healthy and happy!

Did you shed a tear Must have been quite a shock to be leaving somewhere that you have spent so much time in - had such great times and memories and invested so much of your commitment and passion. Can't wait to have you guys back in Australia and Kaelene and I look forward to seeing South America through your travels.
All our love
Terri
Where's the fairy Motherhood has changed you Dianne - last time I saw you you'd have asked which pile the champagne was in! Don't worry, Bec has bought you at least a year's worth, even with 2 kids and Barry to look after. See you in April !! xx
