This morning waking up in Halls Gap Victoria is quite warm considering, 8 deg, well warm compared to the two mornings before that Broken Hill 2 deg inside the van and then 3 deg south of Mildura. We bought a little fan heater yesterday at Horsham, next time we will be prepared for the freezing mornings! Halls Gap is beautiful it is nestled in the Grampians a mountain range in Victoria. Nathan (my husband) and I have decided to go caravaning part way around Australia. We so far have left Bundaberg and then stayed a couple of nights at Dickie beach Sunshine Coast. We then went west through Kilcoy staying the night in Westmar. We then went on to St George and then south to Dirranbandi and then to Lightening Ridge where we stayed the night in a free camping spot 5 klm's south of the town. What an intersting place Lightening Ridge is, it is an opal mining place that doesn't look like its changed in many years. The miners have their own little claims, which comprises of a little humpy for him/her to live in and a patch of rock (there is no grass anywhere.) The miners then dig down under ground, so you need ... read more
