| 11th December 2009 Danielson | Hi, Linda! - From: 4 Seasons I've been waiting to hear from you~~how are your travels going? I soooo agree with you about the family reunion in 4 Seasons, but they also have a building featuring the seven continents, which is equally neat. When you have your family reunion, we'll come, ok?! |
| 9th December 2009 Linda | 4 Seasons - From: 4 Seasons thank you so much for sharing those. I want to have a family reunion there! Wouldn't that be great? Have a wonderful Christmas. Love, Darrel and Linda |

| 26th November 2009 Danielson | Hi, Margo! - From: 4 Seasons Oh you can believe we (women) checked right away to find out how they worked that! They have Glade plug-ins, with the bottles of liquid, in every room. The spring rooms are Fresh Linen. We were told Glade is better than AirWick, and I now have a motor home that smells like gingerbread! All the rooms on this camp have the Glades in them. Happy Thanksgiving, Margo! I love you. |
| 25th November 2009 Margo | smells - From: 4 Seasons You have got to find out home they keep the rooms smelling different. I would love to make the whole house smell like Spring. My favorite room colors were Jan and Feb |
| 24th November 2009 Danielson | Hi, Sar! - From: Our Foreign Affairs.... Time was the key here~~I could either write it to you girls, or put it in the blog. And I wrote it as soon as it happened. I remember your earlier lesson about mom & dad vs Bob & Vicki. (But it was really neat stuff!) |
| 23rd November 2009 Sara! | - From: Our Foreign Affairs.... You have wifi and yet I have to read your blog to hear about all of this neat stuff? What the heck! Are you doing to delete my angry post now? :) |
| 21st November 2009 Danielson | Hi, Sara! - From: Tour Day: Food Pantry A very humbling experience, and I think we were all touched by being allowed to do it. The very sad thing is that those 440 families are just a portion of the families in this area that need food. |
| 19th November 2009 Sara! | - From: Tour Day: Food Pantry What a neat experience! And great pictures, as always :) |
| 18th November 2009 Danielson | Hi, Rosi! - From: Tour Day: Food Pantry You and Fred have a blessed day also, and we'll see you in January! |

| 17th November 2009 Danielson | Hi, Lisa! - From: Bugs, Dirt, Water & Bones The lake house will be used for as a guest house. (and no, we're not guests!) Anything with the name camel spider (or wolf spider, or itsybitsy spider) sounds disgusting. I'll tell Jane. She asks about Blair, and relates his healing to hers. |
| 15th November 2009 Lisa | - From: Bugs, Dirt, Water & Bones That lake house sounds cool! What is it going to be used for? That scorpion is about the color of the camel spiders we had in NM. Very ugly and very hard to see until you are right on top of them. I learned to shake *everything* when I picked it up, even if it was a towel off the towel rack lol Please tell Jane I am praying for her recovery, I hope there are no set-backs. |
| 13th November 2009 Danielson | Hi, Margo! - From: Bugs, Dirt, Water & Bones I didn't take pictures of the quilts~~not because I didn't have my camera, rather it was because where would I stop taking pictures of them? Sorry.... :) |
| 11th November 2009 Margo | Quilts - From: Bugs, Dirt, Water & Bones Okay so I see bugs, a trench, and a digger for the guys - where are the quilts? |

We have another week of fun then back to the real world. The Faulhaber's are expecting a boy baby in late Feb. Who knew!! This should be as interesting as the twins. Enjoyed the opera with Christie on the way down. BJ and Zach are about an hour aways. Love the no schedule!! Hugs around!! Love Bev |

| 25th October 2009 Danielson | Hi, Rosi! - From: Our new Bus! We were surprised how much light pollution was on top of the hill, but still, the stars we could see were magnificent. I can hardly wait for you to see our new home! Vicki |
| 25th October 2009 Danielson | Hi, Margo! - From: Our new Bus! You know exactly what I'm talking about! In a house, one foot, eight feet long isn't that big a deal, but in a bus, it's like another room! And having a large shower is the same thing! We're very lucky to have this. I hope you get to see it some day. I love you, and wish we were closer.....Vicki |
| 25th October 2009 Danielson | Hi, Lois! - From: Our new Bus! You're right about the joys of RVICS! Today at lunch we were discussing our departure from Oak Glen with Frank and Marilyn, and we all got laughs from remembering it! Is this an awesome mission, or what!!! |

About star gazing, sounds like a wonderful night. We have a telescope buried in the basement and one of these projects I will have Fred get it out when we are somewhere where there aren't lights everywhere. Love, Rosi O |
| 24th October 2009 Margo | Congrats on the new home - From: Our new Bus! Congrats on your new home. Having had boats that you could sleep on I can truly appreciate gaining a couple feet more in length and width as well as having a larger refrig and shower. Happy days and safe traveling to you. | 24th October 2009 Lois Wooden | WOW - From: Our new Bus! I am so glad that you were able to find the 2 slide motorhome and purchase it. It is absolutely beautiful. What a great experience to be able to see the planets. The joys of RVICing. |
| 24th October 2009 Danielson | Hi, Jill! - From: Down in the Salt Mine... How interesting! What was his job? We were surprised at how few workers it takes to get the salt mined. I saw that episode of Dirty Jobs, and they also show it at the visitor's center at the mine. |
| 23rd October 2009 Jill Miller | My brother worked in this mine! - From: Down in the Salt Mine... My younger brother Mark worked on the equipment used in this mine. For Christmas a few years back I bought him the "Dirty Jobs" video with Mike Rowe as memoire! I'm glad you got the tour....I'll have to check it out next time!! |
| 20th October 2009 Danielson | Hi, Bev! - From: New life at New Life Ranch No, the leaders are usually the first in, and they take the most undesirable spot! In this case there are none better than others (except the one that only has a 30 amp hookup~~not it!) The creek runs behind all the rvs, but luckily that's where the higher banks are! |
| 20th October 2009 Bev | - From: New life at New Life Ranch I assume if you arrive first to set up you get the best parking spot. I would have taken the one far from the rushing creek. Hope you enjoy your time and stay dry. |

| 23rd September 2009 Rosi O | Nice Pics! - From: Pictures, mostly! Hey Vicki and Bob - Looks like all is going well for you two. The pics take us back a couple of years...different, but almost the same. When we were there the Ranch House had red checkered tablecloths on the tables. The hotel was going to open for the first time since the renovation the weekend we were to leave, but we did get a tour - isn't it great! We are getting lots done on our project at Camp Fairwood. I can't believe that it's going to be over in another week...where did the time go? Give Bob a hug for us and be sure to tell Glenn & Joyce Hi! We don't know the other couple, but tell them we said Hi to them too. I did sign up for this blog site, so soon I will be sending out something too. Love, Rosi O |

| 15th September 2009 Danielson | Hi, Bev! - From: Hey Dorothy, is this Kansas? When do you think it was? Wasn't it on our Walk weekend? | 7th September 2009 Danielson | Hi, Rosi! - From: Mt Rushmore We attended a BBQ in the park...does that count as eating our way through the weekend?! Rexford, Kansas is different than any place we've been to....not in a bad way, but certainly a more laid-back way! Let us know when your reports come in, ok? |
| 6th September 2009 Rosi O | Hey Vicki & Bob! - From: Mt Rushmore Hey you two likes the pics taken at Mt. Rushmore. Fred and I were there last spring when we visited my nephew and wife full timers in the Air Force. Hey, about Kansas -- been there -- done that one. But you all have fun. We have landed in WI at Camp Fairwood and have eaten our way through the weekend. They have family camp this weekend and have invited our team to every meal - the cook was a nutritionlist and worked for weight watchers for awhile. Anyway the food is wonderful and we are enjoying our lazy days before we start our mission project. Love to both of you. Fred & Rosi O |
| 5th September 2009 Danielson | Hi, Rose! - From: Mt Rushmore I'm glad to hear your summer was good. Are you going on project this year? Want to come to Kansas with us?! We were telling our leaders (Glen and Joyce) about our fun shuffleboard games! We miss you two! |

I do have to say as an"old person," all I could see was Lisa pushing. The side view of Hannah looks like her mom. Hope the builders are making progress. Love to all |

| 22nd April 2009 Danielson | Hi, Richard! - From: Bears, Boiled Peanuts & Bargains The way I see it, the one big clue that they're not to be eaten is that they're not covered in salt! But the big question is: Did the birds eat them!! |
| 22nd April 2009 Danielson | Hi, Bev! - From: Bears, Boiled Peanuts & Bargains Oh, nothin' but bluegrass for all ya'll we'all! But it was nice music, and fun to listen to, although some were more fun than others. |
| 22nd April 2009 Richard | boiled peanuts - From: Bears, Boiled Peanuts & Bargains I agree with you. On one of our trios through Georgia Diana and I were "tricked" into buying some boiled peanuts. There are very few things I cannot enjoy eating but this was one of them. We through them to the birds. Don't know whether they ate them or not. |
| 20th April 2009 bev | - From: Bears, Boiled Peanuts & Bargains So what kind of music, bluegrass, folk, rock or all kinds? We want to just hear the music of spring up here in MT. It is promised for 3 days, then who knows!! |
| 20th April 2009 Danielson | Hi, Rhonda! - From: Bears, Boiled Peanuts & Bargains Oh dear! Are you sure they were boiled, and not deep fried?! I'm hoping they have gluten in them, because that's one food I wouldn't mind not being able to eat! |
| 20th April 2009 Rhonda | - From: Bears, Boiled Peanuts & Bargains I've had boiled peanuts (I can't remember where and Butch can't even remember having them) and liked them the first time! I am guessing that Butch did not! |
| 18th April 2009 Danielson | Hi, Bev! - From: Easter's Blessings There are new calves in the hills around here, and that's another reason that this seems more like Montana! With all the rain, the flowering trees are VERY active, as are my sinuses!! |
| 16th April 2009 Bev | Congratulations and Blessings - From: Easter's Blessings I am glad that you had a wonderful Easter. New leaders starts your new season. We experienced the joy of church worship and dinner at the Erfles; surrounded with renewal. Seen in the new baby lambs, calves and green grass. |
| 28th March 2009 Danielson | Hi, Sar! - From: Picture Potpouri If you get the opportunity, you should try them! They're nasty, but everyone should try them! |
| 28th March 2009 Danielson | Hi, Patti! - From: Picture Potpouri Nope. I'm not trying them again. I tried boiled peanuts once, and I'm not doing it again! If they were meant to be eaten, they would be boiled in oil and dipped in chocolate. Not trying them again....no sir...not me.... :) |
| 26th March 2009 Sara! | - From: Picture Potpouri I never want to think about boiled peanuts again! |
| 25th March 2009 Patti | Birthdays - From: Park of the Palms Yes I do remember that birthday!! It was fun and we should live long enough to do it again!! |
| 25th March 2009 Patti | Peanuts,,,Boiled Peanuts - From: Picture Potpouri I have to tell you that we had lots of boiled peanuts while visiting Tim in Georgia, Florida and South Carolina. Some were really good and some were terrible. But ours were never mushy. The vendors were all over the place though. I think you should at least try some that someone from the south think are good. You need to take some kind of risks in your life!!! |
| 20th March 2009 Danielson | Hey, Patti... - From: Park of the Palms Happy I-missed-your-birthday Day! Remember the year you and Bob exchanged the "gorgeous" black birthday bouquets?! |
| 20th March 2009 Danielson | Hi, Patti! - From: Park of the Palms Did you go in the Presbyterian church there? With the crypts inside? Wasn't it spectacular? Thank you for your kind words, and we covet your prayers. |
| 20th March 2009 Patti & Carl | We wish we were with you. - From: Park of the Palms Isn't St Augustine great? We really liked it. And we like those sour little kumquats. You can buy them here too. Congratutlations on being picked for leaders you will be fantastic inspite of being yourselves!!! Just kidding, we are very happy for your new adventure in RVICS. Your mission is in our prayers we know God handpicked you for it. Love, Carl & Patti |
| 19th March 2009 Danielson | Hi, Bev! - From: Shuttle Launch!!! I'd like someone to think I have that much clout! But you do know how thrilled we were when we found out they were going to launch! It was so incredible. (I don't know how Lisa was able to guess about the crying!) |
| 18th March 2009 bev | - From: Shuttle Launch!!! When I heard that the launch had taken place, I thought that you had contacted them to insure that they get that done while you were in the area. You have more connections than I realized!! An experience that you deserve to see. I laughed about Bob's disclaimer statement. You girls didn't cut you any slack about the tears, who made them so wise. |
| 18th March 2009 Danielson | Hi, Lisa! - From: Shuttle Launch!!! Well I didn't blubber...just sniffled while I was "almost" crying! |
| 18th March 2009 Danielson | Hi, Sara! - From: Shuttle Launch!!! Yes, VERY cool!! |

| 17th March 2009 Sara! | - From: Shuttle Launch!!! WOW! How cool! |
| 16th March 2009 BMR | WOW! - From: Tour: Museum & Butterflies Our butterflies are really easy to catch, especially in the morning -before it gets up to 0. |
| 14th March 2009 Danielson | Hi, Lois! - From: Tour: Museum & Butterflies I'm glad you're enjoying them~~they were so gorgeous. We've missed you on projects this winter. :( |
| 13th March 2009 lois | Award Winning - From: Tour: Museum & Butterflies Everyone of your pictures would qualify for an award. They are beautiful, so wonderful that you could see them close up. Yes I think it is a great idea for you to use them as cards. love Lois |
| 12th March 2009 Danielson | Hi, Sar! - From: Tour: Museum & Butterflies Ok, as I understand it you're sitting at 43 below again, I'm watching butterflies, and you wonder when I'm coming home?! Come on spring! I love you, though! |
| 12th March 2009 Danielson | Hi, Patti! - From: Tour: Museum & Butterflies Aren't they awesome? All so pretty, and all so different! |
| 11th March 2009 Sara! | - From: Tour: Museum & Butterflies What beautiful pictures! I've never seen a black butterfly before! P.S. When are you coming home? |
| 11th March 2009 bev | Beautiful - From: Tour: Museum & Butterflies I think you are probably going to start making your own greeting cards!! Something you can do in your spare time;) We are setting in 5 below this a.m. so the pictures give us hope for spring. Love and prayers Bev |
| 11th March 2009 Patti | I like it! - From: Tour: Museum & Butterflies Beautiful, Beautiful Beautiful!!!! |
| 5th March 2009 Sara! | - From: Kennedy Space Center Fascinating! |
| 4th March 2009 Danielson | Hi, Patti! - From: Kennedy Space Center It was one of our favorite places--although that list is very long! We're really really hoping for a March launch, and I'm wondering if it would be helpful for me to call NASA and give them my recommendation! What do you think?! |
| 4th March 2009 Patti | Wow! - From: Kennedy Space Center You are so the ever best tour guide yourself! Thank you for the wonderful pics and narration. |
| 4th March 2009 Danielson | Hi, Bev! - From: Kennedy Space Center We did enjoy it. Thanks so much for coming to see us in Miami...it meant a lot to both of us. Love you.......Vicki |
| 3rd March 2009 bev | - From: Kennedy Space Center I am glad you enjoyed the center. Rich thought he would like to do that. Me not so much. Enjoy your travel days. I love hearing about your adventures!! |
| 21st February 2009 Sara | - From: Tour: back to the Everglades I'm online trying to book a ticket to Florida right now :) Hey, if Al Gore is right with all this global warming stuff you guys should be set to come home by mid-March, right? |
| 21st February 2009 Danielson | Hi, Sa! - From: Tour: back to the Everglades We are not coming home until you guys get over this snow-thing. And I don't see any chance of that happening before June, so we'll see you in June. PS Want to reconsider coming to see us?! |
| 19th February 2009 Sara! | - From: Tour: back to the Everglades What incredible pictures! I'm so jealous! P.S. When are you coming home????? |
| 19th February 2009 Danielson | Hi, Patti! - From: Tour: back to the Everglades We all talked about neglecting the group prayer that day. It's the only time Bob and I could remember missing it on a tour day, so we got a healthy reminder! We will be lonesome the 28th, but I'm glad you're getting together. Pass a hug around the circle for us. PS We prayed for you during devotions this morning. |
| 19th February 2009 Danielson | Hi, Mark! - From: Tour: back to the Everglades I have to admit~~you did come to mind when I thought about posting that picture, but I don't think you own a gun, so I decided to go ahead with it!! Why don't you hop in your rv and come get some sun? |
| 19th February 2009 Patti | Would a checklist help? Prayer #1 on it!! - From: Tour: back to the Everglades Another example of God knowing what we need even before we could imagine it!! And PTL for that!! As we get closer to having LC on the 28th, I miss you more and more. It won't be complete without you. So make sure you "project" your spiritual thoughts to us that night!! And keep up the good driving Bob. Just follow your list next time and pray even though God has you all in his hand anyway. Love, Patti |
| 18th February 2009 Marc | Just had to show the Temp !!! - From: Tour: back to the Everglades I know you did that just for all of us back here in "da North Country" Sounds like you are enjoying life as usual |
| 10th February 2009 Danielson | Hi, Sara! - From: Church picnic in February??? It's a coconut, you silly! Are you ready to retire and join RVICS? Oh wait, you can't have pets in RVICS, and I'm afraid the boys would count! But the RVICS women would love to have them! |
| 9th February 2009 Sara! | - From: Church picnic in February??? I don't care if it's pineapple or coconut, I'd just be happy to be there! Especially the ocean! I'm glad you two are there and not here this time of year. |
| 9th February 2009 Danielson | Hi, Rhonda! - From: Church picnic in February??? This project ends Feb. 24, and then we move north to Keystone Heights, south of Jacksonville. Bummer. |
| 9th February 2009 Danielson | Hi, Carrell-- - From: Church picnic in February??? I was thinking of coconuts, not pineapples. I'll go back and change it. Have you tasted the fruit while it's green? Thanks for proofreading for me! I'm on the fonds project, just tell me when! |
| 8th February 2009 Rhonda | - From: Church picnic in February??? Hi - Butch, Karly and I will be in the Miami area March 16-23. Will you still be there then? I think we will be in Miami the first 3-4 days and then somewhere in the Keys the remainder of the time. I am not the planner on this trip, so don't even know for sure. With a GPS and an address, we could sure find you. |
| 8th February 2009 Carrell | pineapples? - From: Church picnic in February??? Hey, Vicki, them's coconuts, not pineapples, at the top of that very tall tree, although the one in the ground does look like the top of a pineapple. Keep thinking fronds - and I'll let you know how many - Pastor says, yes. |
| 2nd February 2009 Danielson | Hi, Bev! - From: Tour: Homecoming festivities The driving does activate your prayer life, don't you agree?! |
| 1st February 2009 bev | We understand your traffic terror - From: Tour: Homecoming festivities I just got to read your last entry, vacation takes alot of time out of ones day:) I am the driver since the other driver is having his eyes worked on. I have a rental car with Louisiana plates, you can imagine that I have gotten the horn...... I stop on yellow! Black truck guy thought that the speed limit wasn't enough so he had a give me another signal which was a waste of his time but annoyed my husband. Hope you are having a great weekend. Talk soon |
| 26th January 2009 Danielson | Hi, Margo! - From: Tour: Homecoming festivities Bob says to tell you that most of the crazies have Florida plates! I'm sure you're right, though. Today I watched someone drive through an intersection with eleven lanes of traffic, and the when he entered the intersection the light was already red. Miracles don't happen often enough in this city..... PS We are not snowbirds! |
| 26th January 2009 margo gross | traffic - From: Tour: Homecoming festivities One thing to keep in mind with traffic is that some of it is due to "Snowbird" arrival. Thousands of people from the upper east coast descend to Florida after Thanksgiving and stay until around Easter. Locals struggle with added traffic, crowded grocery and eating establishments and elderly drivers who are not used to being in busy traffic. I also know about the horns - both our friend who lived in Miami and Jess in Tampa have worn out horns from honking so much! |
| 26th January 2009 Danielson | hi, Sara! - From: Tour: Homecoming festivities That's funny about the spring fever, because I wondered about the escape factor! If you think this is an odd time for homecoming, what about our church picnic being February 7? |
| 25th January 2009 Sara! | - From: Tour: Homecoming festivities Their lockers are outside?! How cool! I suppose with no spring fever to worry about then kids don't run off between classes? January is an odd time of year for Homecoming! |
| 25th January 2009 Danielson | Hi, Patti! - From: Tour: Billie Swamp Safari Come see us, and we'll do it all again! |
| 24th January 2009 Patti | Alligators - From: Tour: Billie Swamp Safari How Cool!! Of course I had to forward this to Tim. He still misses being on the recovery team to get the misplaced alligators caught and put back in the place they belong. Your pictures make me remember so many special moments we had in North and South Carolina, mostly Charleston. They had a great place there called Reptile Gardens. We didn't have an air boat, it was just a boat with oars that we took on a self guided tour. Love you guys!! |
| 23rd January 2009 Danielson | Hi, Meg! - From: Tour: Billie Swamp Safari Rod could tow that boat behind the Trooper! We would never see the two men again! |
| 23rd January 2009 Megan | - From: Tour: Billie Swamp Safari Rodney is very jealous of your boat! I don't think he noticed there were other pictures on the page. :) And I would have stayed a little further away from that gator. I can't believe how long the tail is! |
| 23rd January 2009 Danielson | Hi, Sara! - From: Tour: Billie Swamp Safari Most of the animals we saw at the Swamp Safari were the animals you'd see at any zoo. Like I said, it probably would have been more exciting if it had been during swamp time. |
| 23rd January 2009 Sara! | - From: Tour: Billie Swamp Safari What awesome pictures! I can't believe you were on an airboat and didn't barf all over! Its the ostrich in the everglades or the bison in Yellowstone or the goats at the petting zoo - they're all on to us! |
| 17th January 2009 Danielson | Hi, Becky Lynn - From: Keys, Cold and Coconuts I didn't know about the fine for hitting a deer, but now I'm really glad I didn't hit one! Maybe they wouldn't be so jumpy if they weren't on speed! Thank you for reading my blog! Vicki |
| 16th January 2009 Becky Lynn | Trip to the keys - From: Keys, Cold and Coconuts Glad you enjoyed your stay. I used to live in the keys and be glad you didn't see any key dear. The penalty for hitting one that jumps in the road in front of your car is worse than if you hit a person. Anyways the keys are beautiful. I was there for spring break thanks to a deal I found at http://www.vacationtrader.org that only cost $100 per night to stay in a timeshae. The only bad part about the trip was the ticket we got on the 7 mile bridge! |
| 16th January 2009 Danielson | Hi, Bev! - From: People, people, people Great to hear from you! Yes, we have cell coverage...call any time. |
| 15th January 2009 bev/rich hageman | Greetings from bev & rich - From: People, people, people We are slow learners but we figured out how to keep up with your location. We hope that you have cell service because we intend to give you a call soon. Thanks for the Christmas greetings it was read by the whole family. I included my email address. Looking forward to talking Love ya |
| 15th January 2009 Danielson | Hi, Linda! - From: People, people, people And don't you think that's a great temperature for winter?! |
| 14th January 2009 Linda | CA temps - From: People, people, people Hey, it's been in the 70's here in Sonora, too. Could use the rain, but this sunshine warmth has been soooo nice. |
| 13th January 2009 Danielson | Hi, Sara! - From: People, people, people It's not all as great as it seems...there is a downside. When I find it, I'll share it! |
| 13th January 2009 Sara!! | - From: People, people, people I'm not reading another blog or looking at another picture as long as you two are in Florida! :) |
| 12th January 2009 Danielson | Hi, Linda! - From: Now we're Floridians! He didn't give me the creeps, but if it had been a spider you sure wouldn't have a picture of it! |
| 5th January 2009 Linda | - From: Now we're Floridians! No thanks (on the closer look at the snake). I don't creep out about many things, but a poisonous snake can do it to me. No worries here...if there are any snakes here, they must be frozen solid. |
| 5th January 2009 Danielson | Hi, Jean! - From: Now we're Floridians! We tend to think it is summer, and it takes watching the news to remind us that you're still struggling. But think how green North Dankota will be when it does turn summer! And Happy 2009 to you, my Friend. |
| 5th January 2009 Danielson | Hi, Linda! - From: Now we're Floridians! The snake wasn't close to us...we were on the boardwalk and he was down by the water. He was there most of the afternoon, and people were going back to their rvs to get cameras! But I agree that I wouldn't want to meet up with him. I have a shot that looks even closer--want to see it?! |
| 4th January 2009 Jean | Happy 2009 - From: Now we're Floridians! First of all, I wish you both a very Happy New Year! May 2009 find you happy & healthy! Now for our warm weather!! Well, it was zero here today and that was a heat wave! I have shoveled more snow this winter then I have since we moved to the country......that alone is giving me ideas for the new kennel! (Shorter outside runs) We hunted the dogs last weekend and I nearly lost Patch in the snow it was so deep! She would disappear and then suddenly burst out of the snow with a totally bewildered look on her face! After wadding through waist deep snow and filling our boots we returned to the road where we had parked only to discover that's where all the birds were, too!! Oh, the joys of pheasant hunting in ND! Have a wonderful stay in Florida. I am enjoying your beautiful, warm pictures...it gives me hope for Spring! Jean |
| 1st January 2009 Linda | - From: Now we're Floridians! The top four photos look somehow familiar..... I was feeling a little jealous until I saw the snake |
| 1st January 2009 Danielson | Hi, Sara! - From: Now we're Floridians! Just keep pretending we're in Iowa, and that the Gulf is not as nice as it looks, and that it's not warm enough to walk right out into, without needing to whine about it being cold. We're hoping the ocean is as nice!!! |
| 31st December 2008 SARA ROCKS!! | - From: Now we're Floridians! From thick, full trees to crazy birds and ocean! We ALL wish we were in Florida with you! And I won't be reading anymore blogs if there are pictures of the ocean in them :) |
| 7th December 2008 Danielson | Hi, Nancy! - From: Last word from Alabama Betty told me they were hickory nuts...and to tell the truth (except for you and Earl) I can't tell one nut from another! We'll see you in a few weeks.....Vicki |
| 7th December 2008 Danielson | Hi, Chris! - From: Last word from Alabama I miss you. That's a wonderful analogy....now I wish I'd thought of it that way and used it as a devotion. Have a blessed Christmas, Chris, and thank you for being so supportive. You have been a large part of my Chrisitan walk. Vicki |
| 6th December 2008 Nancy | - From: Last word from Alabama Thank you for the complement. I thought those were pecans, and we are eating them. Whats up? :) |
| 5th December 2008 chris viets | hickory nut lesson - From: Last word from Alabama I was struck with how much we are like hickory nuts! We are closed up tight in the world we create, full of sin, determined to be independent and make it on our own, wallowing on the ground .....until we give up our tight hold, turn to God, give him control over our wills, circumstances, pet sins........ and he cracks the outer shell, opens us up to his reality and exposes the useful and productive creation we are ment to be. .........it made sense to me. Have a wonderful Chrsitmas hugging and loving on your family. Thanks for sharing your life through these fun times in word and pictures. Love Chris |
| 5th December 2008 Joan & Mike | Contentment - From: Last word from Alabama You two look so contented sitting in the rockers waiting for dinner, and being it is right next to your comments about being so thankful for your lifestyle says it all!! Love to you both!! Joan & Mike |
| 3rd December 2008 Danielson | Thanks, Sara! - From: Tour: Alabama Institute for the Blind Doesn't it look like it could be four feet tall?! |
| 2nd December 2008 SARA! | - From: Tour: Alabama Institute for the Blind Mom, you put the most unique pictures on your blogs! I like the little tiny tree :) |
| 27th November 2008 Danielson | Hi, Lisa! - From: Cotton, ducks and dry leaves. No, I can't eat hushpuppies, but we were just glad we didn't end up with a lobster. And your dad enjoyed them! The only time we've ever seen cotton fields was when we drove to Lubbock, and by that time they had harvested them, and all we saw was the cotton scattered everywhere. |
| 24th November 2008 Lisa | LOL - From: Cotton, ducks and dry leaves. Could you even eat the hushpuppies?? The pictures on here are incredible- you are really getting good at taking scenic pics. (and did that lady know you were taking pics of here?) Those cottonf ields remind me of the drive between Clovis and Lubbock. |
| 20th November 2008 Jean | Bagley Center - From: Now we're Alabama residents! Just browsing the blog....I love the look of the Bagley Center...can we do the new kennel like that?? What a beautiful place you are at! |
| 19th November 2008 Danielson | Hi, Sar-- - From: Cotton, ducks and dry leaves. Yeah, I didn't try to help the woman, but I did get a great shot of it!! Just before that she was feeding them and talking on her cell phone! |
| 19th November 2008 Danielson | Hi, Chris-- - From: Cotton, ducks and dry leaves. Thank you for your kind words. God gives lots of opportunities for beautiful pictures, doesn' he! Find a contest for me, and I'll enter it. I have been looking for some. I should google it.... |
| 19th November 2008 Sara! | - From: Cotton, ducks and dry leaves. What cool pictures! I laughed at the picture with the ducks chasing the lady! How lucky was she that you happened to have a camera at the exact moment she was being assualted :) The cotton is so neat! |
| 19th November 2008 chris viets | Your water/ducks picture - From: Cotton, ducks and dry leaves. Your picture of the dam with the ducks is outstanding. The waterfall is pure silver and the light shinning through the water on top and the ripples.... I think you should enter it in a contest or something. |
| 18th November 2008 Danielson | Hi, Sara! - From: ChooChoo.......Chatanooga Being able to see seven states gives you some idea of the size of the states out here! But yes, it blew us away too! |
| 18th November 2008 Joan | Alabama golfing - From: Now we're Alabama residents! We were in your current area 2 years ago for our 40th wedding anniversary. We golfed the Robert Trent Jones trail and stayed in Birmingham. Each day we would head out and golf a different course, but were all part of the same organization. It was a great vacation area and we loved the colors - all the leaves on the course made it hard to find the ball though. Our house is great, will send pictures whenever I get Mike to get them on my computer - he is the photographer. Joan |
| 18th November 2008 Danielson | Hi, Joan! - From: ChooChoo.......Chatanooga That's what I wanted the pictures to do! You'll love it! How's the new house? Send pictures, please. |
| 18th November 2008 Danielson | Hi, Jeanne! - From: Happy Halloween I hear you about the creeping jenny....morning glories are in that same category....Bob wouldn't even sell the seeds in the store! Don't start freezing rhubarb juice yet, but don't let the plants die! |
| 17th November 2008 Joan | It's now on my bucket list!! - From: ChooChoo.......Chatanooga Thanks for the pictures. I am going to add Chatanooga to my Bucket List of places I want to visit someday. |
| 16th November 2008 Sara! | - From: ChooChoo.......Chatanooga You two have seen some incredible stuff! I thought the See Seven States thing was so cool! |
| 16th November 2008 Jean | Hello! - From: Happy Halloween I was thinking about how concerned you were with the over-running weed you have discovered....that's how I feel about HGTV and their "landscape" shows promoting planting creeping jenny!! Goodness, it certainly can't be the same plant that I fight with all summer long...or could it? Your blogs make me sad as I see that you are getting farther and farther away each project, and then I remember...each project brings you closer to me, summer and pop on the porch! Stay safe and happy. You are only a blog away!! |
| 15th November 2008 Lisa | - From: ChooChoo.......Chatanooga Those pictures are gorgeous!! |
| 15th November 2008 Danielson | Hi, Henry & Ann-- - From: ChooChoo.......Chatanooga Thanks for the comments. We're anxious to meet up with you again in the spring. Have a great winter...Vicki |
| 13th November 2008 Henry and Annie | - From: ChooChoo.......Chatanooga Gorgeous Pictures!! Sounds like a great time! Thanks for sharing!! Henry & Annie |
| 22nd October 2008 margo | language - From: Carson Springs Baptist Conference Center I totally agree with the odd language. What's weird is that people from Tn, Ky, WVA and SC, NC and VA all have their own type of southern accent. I have been hear long enough to be able to pick where someone is from just by listening to them speak. The best southern word is oil. It is pronounced ooooooall. How can a three letter word end up with that many vowels. You are also correct about the churches. There are at least 4 different types of Baptist (including Primative Baptist). I am so glad you are seeing this end of the country. Everyday I am reminded about how beautiful this area is. |
| 3rd October 2008 anonymous | - From: Tour Day -- Nethercutt Museum Sylmar is NOT part of Santa Clarita. Sylmar is officially a neighborhood within the City of Los Angeles. |
| 1st October 2008 Danielson | Hi, Chris! - From: Tour: Amish Country & RV Museum Thank goodness I have a bugologist on staff! Is that the low clicking sound we hear in the evenings? Someone told us that sound is tree frogs, but I think "tree frogs" sounds a bit like "jack-a-lopes"! Thanks for the info! |
| 29th September 2008 chris | Your Bug - From: Tour: Amish Country & RV Museum Your bug is a Katydid. Have you noticed a high buzzing sound in the background during the day? Those are Katydids. |
| 27th September 2008 Danielson | Hi, Jean! - From: Tour: Amish Country & RV Museum We don't do confetti here because we really appreciate this camp! What a mess that would be to clean up! Ours didn't have a message, and I can only imagine what yours said! Nothing educates a teacher like teaching in the public school system! We miss you, too.... |
| 27th September 2008 Jean | RV - From: Tour: Amish Country & RV Museum I forgot to tell you that I think I saw an RV like mine in one of your pictures at the museum.....I told you it was old! |
| 27th September 2008 Jean | Forked? - From: Tour: Amish Country & RV Museum WHen Ron was a principal at the High School, we, too, got forked....it had a message, but I won't repeat what it said....did yours say something? After experiencing life with you I can not imagine why you have not thought of your infamous confettii!!! Or is that reserved for SPECIAL people? Miss you! |
| 25th September 2008 Danielson | Hi, Linda-- - From: Tour: Amish Country & RV Museum I REALLY like this idea!! They sit on pavement (I know, we keep telling them that they're the favorite kids!), but we could still do something with them. I'll get back to you! |
| 25th September 2008 Danielson | Hi, Margo-- - From: Tour: Amish Country & RV Museum The tarp is a good idea. The RV museum was very fun, but we like car museums, too! |
| 25th September 2008 Danielson | Hi, Joan-- - From: Tour: Amish Country & RV Museum You don't know the size of these grapes! |
| 25th September 2008 Danielson | Hi, Patti-- - From: Tour: Amish Country & RV Museum We wondered where they got that many forks! The next night at the bonfire we offered to bring forks for the potluck! |
| 25th September 2008 Linda Romani | forked revenge - From: Tour: Amish Country & RV Museum Ok, do the same thing, but wrap the stem of an artificial flower around each fork handle. It will show them how much classier you are then them. Linda |
| 24th September 2008 Margo | grape stains - From: Tour: Amish Country & RV Museum Maybe after Bob gets all done scrubbing the stains you might want to put a tarp (with rocks to hold down) to keep the grapes from staining the top again. I would love to see the rv museum - it looks so much more interesting than the car museums Q drags me to all the time! |
| 24th September 2008 Joan Matz | GRAPES - From: Tour: Amish Country & RV Museum My suggestion would be to put down a tarp on top of your RV and then make wine!! |
| 24th September 2008 Patti | Forked??? - From: Tour: Amish Country & RV Museum Whos forks did they use? It doesn't look near as messy as toilet paper. Now are you supposed to fork someone else? You know, kind of like stickering????? |
| 18th September 2008 Lisa | Amish can wear crocs?? - From: Midweek Tour?! You must have been working hard if they even made you work in the afternoon!! :) |
| 17th September 2008 Joan Matz | Now I can see them!! - From: Another world. I (and my computer) took yesterday off and when I got in your blog this morning, the pictures popped up. Thanks. You always take such interesting pictures!! |
| 16th September 2008 Patti | pictures - From: Another world. I got the pictures and they are beautiful. I can't imagine having the grapes dropping like that all the time. If you get hungry and are lazy, just think, you can go outside, lean back in your chair with your mouth open, and Walla!! food delivered right to your mouth!! Of course you might choke a little!! |
| 15th September 2008 Danielson | Hi, again... - From: Another world. All my photos are gone now too. I'm hoping it's a website issue. :( Vicki |
| 15th September 2008 Danielson | Hi, Joan... - From: Another world. I get the pictures when I open it, and I haven't heard of anyone else having this problem...I don't know what to advise. Can you close out of it and try again? |
| 15th September 2008 Joan Matz | Blank pictures - From: Another world. I love getting your blogs and have missed them. This one is great but all I got were black squares with white words, but not one picture popped up. I hope you can send them again so I can really see what you were writing about. Blessings to you both!! |
| 4th September 2008 Jean | Until we meet again. - From: The beginning of the end...of summer. Patty, you are so right that I am bittersweet. We had such a wonderful summer and the days flew past. Now that they have ended I look back on the time we spent together and I am grateful for every second! Hard work, great friends, good food, and warm pop (an inside joke) on the patio! Life doesn't get any better! Thanks, Vic and Bob, for all that you did for me, and I don't just mean building the kennel! Stay safe my friends and have the adventure of a lifetime this winter, your hammer and vacuum await you! |
| 17th August 2008 Patti | Wow!! - From: The beginning of the end...of summer. I get tired just looking at the pictures of the work. How relieved Jean must be to have it done but I can't help but think that she has bittersweet feelings knowing that you will be leaving soon. And then again like I said..........she might feel relieved!!!! Seriously, I can't wait to see you and hear more about the summer and what God saw get accomplished and all the serving that was accomplished. Love & prayers |
| 8th August 2008 MILES | - From: Random thoughts/Random pix IT WAS OWESOME __________ MILES North Carolina Treatment Centers |
| 29th July 2008 Danielson | I laughed - From: This place is going to the dogs! when I read Jean's account! Just one of many summer memories!! We'll be here next year! |
| 28th July 2008 Jean | The Real Story! - From: This place is going to the dogs! Hi, it's me, Jean. I am here to see that the true smoothie story is heard! Not that Vic lied, she just has a shorter version! I was busy working at the computer and Bob was pounding away in the new kennel while Vic once again was creating a soothie to challenge our taste buds. ( She is the only person I know that can add just about anything and make it taste "wonderful".) Anyway, I was plugging away at the keyboard when asked if the cherries had pits, I answered that they did, not realizing that they were already a major ingredient of the new smoothies! Vic responds "ooooooooh" just as I hear a horrible grinding noise coming from the blender. Needless to say, we giggled and spit and giggled and spit all the way to the barn. Out intend was not to burden Bob with our troubles, so we tried to surpress the giggles and Vic presented his smoothie with a smile on her face.....and we waited for his first sip......being the nice man that he is, Bob swallowed and smiled and we could see his mind mulling over the texture, racing to put a name to it. Meanwhile, Vic and I nearly choked when we saw the look on his face!! The three of us had a very interesting conversation as we sipped and spit our way to the bottom. Oh, yes, the bottom!! If you can imagine what the silt from the delta would feel like in your mouth then you would know what we were dealing with at the bottom of out glass! Yes, another wonderful memory that I will cherish all winter long while I wait for my friends to return to Project Antelope Creek next year........you will be back, won't you??? |

| 11th July 2008 Danielson | Hi, Chris! - From: Tour Day--Flight This sounds a bit like one of those Work-at-home-and-make-$10,000-a-month offers! Sign me up!!! |
| 10th July 2008 Danielson | Hi, Margo! - From: Our summer home: Dickinson They are greener than I remembered too, but I think it's because June was so cold. It is so beautiful, and I could make one entire entry with just pictures of that area. |
| 7th July 2008 Margo | Badlands - From: Our summer home: Dickinson AHHH I love those Badlands! I believe a have a picture almost exactly like this one hanging in my office. Yours has a bit more green than mine. Glad to know you are in ND and doing a little relaxing! |
| 2nd July 2008 chris viets | You even make Dickenson sound exciting - From: Our summer home: Dickinson OK- I have suspected this for awhile. You need to do travel commentary for a living. There is your next career. Bob navigates, Vickie comments and imbues where ever you end up with fun and a joy for living. Love those Grand kids. Chris |
| 1st June 2008 Lisa | very pretty :) - From: Tour Day--Flight :) |
| 20th May 2008 Danielson | Hi, Karen! - From: Postscript to Bears... He is beautiful, isn't he, but in a couple pictures I thought his ribs showed. Think how much prettier he'd be in the fall, with a thick coat, and a layer of fat. I know those two things always make me look better! |
| 20th May 2008 karen | - From: Postscript to Bears... I would expect the bears to look scraggly like our deer do this time of year. He is beautiful. |
| 20th May 2008 Chris V | Why I Don't Build - From: Ness Lake News That camper reminds me why I don't build things. What a hoot. The door doesn't quite fit, but it does cover the hole and do you suppose he ran out of boards at the top, or just hasn't collected anymore along side the road yet. I should print that pic and post it over my workbench just incase I get the itch to create. Chris |
| 19th May 2008 Danielson | Gramma Moses? - From: Ness Lake News I would hope to be that good! You are kind! |
| 18th May 2008 Annie | What fun! - From: Tour: Barkerville You write as you talk, Vicki, and it is simply delightful! Your pictures are great! We missed the rainbow the other night--your picture was beautiful! Thanks for sharing! Annie |

| 18th May 2008 Karen | - From: Ness Lake News I am impressed too. When I read that you painted it, I thought you were joking. then I clicked to enlarge it. You have talent. You are going to be another Grandfma Moses. |
| 17th May 2008 Danielson | Hi, Patti! - From: Ness Lake News The picture is from the book I got in Billings. It's supposed to have a big deer in the center, but that didn't appeal to me~~not in the painting part, or the looking at it part! No, this whole thing isn't fun...it's all service and sacrifice! |
| 16th May 2008 Patti | ooops! forgot - From: Ness Lake News BEAUTIFUL RAINBOW |
| 16th May 2008 Carl | Picture - From: Ness Lake News Your picture is wonderful! Is that from one of the books you bought? or is from something you saw or imagined? It sounds as though you might be having a little bit too much fun. What were you doing up at 4:30 in the morning? Ya, right!!! |
| 14th May 2008 Patti | Wow! It is beautiful isn't it! - From: Tour--Sports & Art Museum But all the same, you need to come back for a while. We are getting anxious to see you. We're at the cabin this week and it is so nice.We went for a long ride in my Ranger and down to the lake. I'm treasuring every moment of it because I'm afraid once my surgery comes it will be a while before I can do anything. The weather has been beautiful and all our ice is gone. Carl caught one catfish and one big carp today, but no Walleye. Love you, Carl & Patti |
| 12th May 2008 Danielson | Hi, Frank! - From: Traveling to Prince George We've talked about you since Leroy & Arlene came aboard! It does remind us of Oak Glen in a lot of ways. We miss you both!! |
| 10th May 2008 Frank Fox | Snow - From: Traveling to Prince George Just a little remeniscent of Oak Glenn, and very different from the August when we were there in 2003 before the beetles had done a lot of damage. What beautiful country though. When we were there it was wild fires, trying to destroy the beetles I guess. Wish we were there. Frank |
| 10th May 2008 Danielson | Hi, Patti! - From: Traveling to Prince George Hey, it would help if you weren't quite so happy about our weather!!! |
| 6th May 2008 Patti | I Like IT!!! - From: Traveling to Prince George Have you wondered if this is getting paid back for all the nice weather you have had while we have had to deal with snow, cold, rain and Montana Weather all winter long??? |
| 29th April 2008 Danielson | Yes, I see why they're called that. - From: Misc. Photos It's just such an interesting formation! Edible? If God wanted us to eat them, He would have made them chocolate! |
| 29th April 2008 Danielson | Come back?` - From: Misc. Photos Where are you? If we were going to see you, where would we have to go!!! |
| 29th April 2008 Chris V | A few facts about ferns - From: Misc. Photos That round thing is called a fiddle head. Can you see why? It is the way a new frond (big leaf) is formed underground. It unrolls and presto you have a new fern part. By the way, they say they are good to eat. You'll have to let us know how they taste. Chris |
| 29th April 2008 Patti | pictures tell sooo... much - From: Misc. Photos I love the ocean shot, everything about it looks like you two. (Good thing, huh??) And then there is the picture of Henry with the spoon, I don't know quite what to think of the company you are keeping. I think you'd better come back before it gets any worse. |
| 27th April 2008 Danielson | That's why I had Bob leave his glasses on! - From: Peanuts Museum Plus, he left his Charley Brown shirt at home! We covet your prayers during our travel time (and always!) We were so confident before we met the stone wall, and now we're tense about driving. I know miles will make that better, but I'll be glad we aren't nervous. Being smarter apparently makes me nervous! |
| 27th April 2008 Danielson | Thanks so much, Margo! - From: Peanuts Museum I'm glad to have something to do with my news and my pictures, and to know others appreciate it makes it all the better! East coast next year!!! |
| 23rd April 2008 Carl & Patti | Safe Travel - From: Peanuts Museum Remember we are praying for you as you travel to your new spot. Did you notice a resemblance between Bob and Charlie Brown???? |
| 23rd April 2008 Margo | Thanks for the journey - From: Peanuts Museum Thanks so much for the wonderful journey down the West Coast. | 3rd April 2008 Margo | leprechauns - From: Mt. Gilead Bible Camp & Conference Center Keep your eyes peeled for the leprechans. With such tall trees and all those shamrocks you know those little guys are hiding. In relation to the slow bumps - in NC they are called Speed Humps! |
| 1st April 2008 Danielson | Now that's a visual! - From: Campus Photos One that no one wants in their long term memory!! |
| 1st April 2008 Danielson | I hear what you're saying. - From: Venice Beach It must be the weather that keeps them living on the mountainsides. |
| 31st March 2008 margo | bare feet - From: Campus Photos Well, I do believe that you and Bob have been californized. In the photo shot where you are looking at tools I noticed that both of you are barefooted. If you stay there much longer Bob will probably start wearing muscle shirts and cutoffs and you a halter and mini skirt topped off with a big straw hat! Love you. Margo |
| 31st March 2008 Patti | Oh yap, I forgot! - From: Venice Beach If building on the hillsides is the only place for them to build, I'll pray harder for them, I'd rather all those people stay in California because we are already too crowded in Montana!!!! |
| 31st March 2008 Patti | - From: Venice Beach I'm positive that those little ones miss you too. And we miss you too!!! |
| 18th March 2008 Danielson | This is good to hear, - From: Busy Busy now are we... because I don't feel like I did the observatory justice. You'd really enjoy it. |

| 5th March 2008 Danielson | Oh you know we discussed them! My stomach - From: Date Festival hurt just from the discussion!!! |
| 4th March 2008 Jean | What, no Vikings? - From: Date Festival I was wondering if your visit to the fair included Indian Tacos and Vikings dripping down your arm and off your elbow!! What memories of the Richland County fair that brings to mind! |
| 12th February 2008 Patti | Wow! Beautiful - From: Spring is here! Wonderful pictures Vic. Of course I am envious that Mike and Joan got to hug you and visit. We just got back from 5 days at the cabin. You talk about snow!!! We drove the Ranger through 1 1/2 - 2 ft snow. I worked wonderful. And yest it was so peaceful and beautiful to look out on that snow without any human markings on it. I think at your camp I would love to sit on the benches and nap while listening to the water flow. We love you!! |
| 10th February 2008 Danielson | No boogey men here... - From: Oak Glen Christian Conference Center When we were inside, we could see the fog rolling past the window. And I thought that was spooky! You never see movies of happy things coming out of the fog, do you?! |
| 10th February 2008 Lisa | - From: Oak Glen Christian Conference Center That fog *IS* spooky! Also very pretty- but I would have stayed in the motorhome to admire it! :) |
| 6th February 2008 Danielson | Dog kennels??? - From: Tour Day: Glass Factory I'm always willing to try. |
| 6th February 2008 Jean | Concrete - From: Tour Day: Glass Factory I am so glad to see Bob getting some concrete experience!! Any chance you will be building dog kennels, too? > > Stay dry! Love you! > Jean |
| 30th January 2008 Danielson | Ads - From: Evidence of rain I don't usually see the ad page, and that's very interesting! I guess it's better that they're tacking on ads for those products rather than some other products!! Are you interested in buying any rain gear? (I might be able to make a profit here!!!) |
| 30th January 2008 Danielson | Snow vs Rain - From: Evidence of rain We've been watching your snow totals on the news~~I didn't think Salt Lake usually got that much. Aren't you the lucky ones to be there for this experience?!!! But I hear you about the need. Thanks for your prayers. Always, thanks. |
| 30th January 2008 cviets | Adds on your page - From: Evidence of rain They must coordinate the adds to keywords in your titles, I couldn't help notice they were trying to sell, rain boots, rain wear, rain gauges today as I gazed at your rain pictures. And it is -17 as I write! Chris |
| 30th January 2008 Richard | rain - From: Evidence of rain We have been getting some of the same systems but by the time they get here they are snow instead of rain. Our first winter in Utah and they are getting more snow than they have had in about 25 years. The snow pack in the mountains is about 150%of normal. I shovel (blow) the driveway at least four days a week but like the people there, we shouldn't complain. This area has had very little moisture for the past several years. We are continuing to pray for Megan. |
| 28th November 2007 Joan Matz | Palm Springs & San Diego - From: Palm Sprgs & San Diego I'm surprised that the golfer in you doesn't like Palm Springs!!! We go there in the winter quite often to get a few games in while it is cold and snowy in Montana. We actually like Palm Desert better as far as the shopping and restaurants go. We'll be there the end of January. Also, a comment on San Diego. I did a city tour there once and was informed that was all desert until they created the big aquaduct for water and brought in all the palm trees and other vegitation. None of the green stuff you see there is native to the area. We love San Diego too - for the same reasons as we love Palm Springs only add the addition of the beaches and Sea World!!! We toured the aircraft carrier that is docked permanently there (can't remember the name), but it was very interesting. Loved your kite pictures! I haven't seen that type before. Thanks for always sharing with us!! See 'ya in December!! Love 'ya, Joan |
| 28th November 2007 Margo Gross | san diego - From: Palm Sprgs & San Diego I can totally relate to you pictures today. Two years ago I had a meeting in Palm Springs and after two days of looking at the barren mountains decided the palm trees and beautiful golf courses would not be enough to keep me there. Twice Q and I have been to San Diego, one for a conference where we got to do a lot of sight seeing and 4 hr adventure on a whale watching boat (don't waste you money - the only whales we saw were in our imagination!). Then this Spring our cruise departed from San Diego. I loved waiting to depart and watch the planes fly in and sail boats drifting by. The city is beautiful. Be sure and do Coronado. |
| 17th November 2007 Jean | Back with you! - From: Moreno Valley Finally had a chance to catch up with you, had been wondering where you were in respect to the fires in CA. How long have you had this thing for trees??? Actually they are very unusual! Keep on keeping! Love you! |
| 15th November 2007 Danielson | Carrell is my west coast consultant... - From: Moreno Valley even though she now lives in Montana! She also reminded me that in Spanish, moreno means brown....Moreno Valley depicts its name very well! |
| 14th November 2007 bob and carrell evans | catawpa trees - From: Moreno Valley Not sure of the spelling, but believe the hacked trees are catawpa trees. They cut them back in the fall, and in the spring and summer they produce branches of large leaves, great for shade, with pretty smelling flowers and eventually poisonous pods. We had them in WA, too. |
| 5th November 2007 Danielson | Thank you for your comment, - From: Waterfalls but believe me when I say it's my pleasure to share. And yes, I agree with your statement about seeing different things that you'd expect to see outside of Montana. One of the things that keeps surprising me, is that there are so many different kinds of everything; I thought there was one kind of oak tree, and there are many; one kind of sea gull, and there are many; one kind of blue jay, and there are many. I feel like I think waaaay too small! |
| 4th November 2007 Patti | Soooo Pretty - From: Waterfalls If I didn't know you weren't here in Montana, it would be so easy to think you were out somewhere around here. Its great to see that there are still areas like that in california. I was just thinking that we all are learning through your blog and experiences along with you. Its great seeing places and learning details about them we otherwise wouldn't get a chance to. Thank you for including us. |
| 3rd November 2007 Danielson | The signs are small, and are - From: Tour day--Jamestown throughout the property, so they're not at all disctracting. Some of them are on the walkways, some are on the hiking trails, and some are on the roads, but they may be hanging in the trees, as well as standing on posts. I just found one in the lobby yesterday...it's a suggestsion box, and it's hanging about 10 feet off the ground, and is upside down! Obviously our suggestions are important to them! But all the times we've walked through the lobby, we'd never seen it until yesterday. Now we look for the signs whenever we're moving from one place to another, |
| 3rd November 2007 Danielson | Huh? - From: Acorns Oh, I'm so confused.... :) |
| 3rd November 2007 Bill and Karen | signs - From: Tour day--Jamestown We are enjoying your blog. I could not believe all the signs. It made we think of South Dakota and signs every few feet along the highway. I forgot about the scenery to read the signs. Are the signs distacting to you or just funny? Love you. Hugs around. |
| 3rd November 2007 Patti | Rule??? - From: Acorns What kind of "useful" are you meaning? Like, mechanical, doing something concrete, emotional, spiritual, mentally?? |
| 3rd November 2007 Patti & Carl | Jacket - From: Tour day--Jamestown Hey! Can we get one of those jackets? They are great. |
| 1st November 2007 Danielson | Hi, Joan! - From: Even more signs I'll skip the writing of the book, and you just send the money to me! Speaking of money, I was trying to talk myself into needing a vest that say Silver Spur, and which I really don't need, and when I thought about where would I keep it, that was the thought that made me leave it in the store! |
| 1st November 2007 Danielson | Cameras - From: Even more signs This is a camera that even Bob and Carl could make! You need one at the cabin! |
| 31st October 2007 Joan & Mike | Book in Progress - From: Even more signs I'm thinking you should publish all your insights in a book. I think it would be a best seller!! Thanks for the fun pictures! |
| 31st October 2007 Patti | signs!! - From: Even more signs With all those signs like that, are you sure Carl hasn't been busy there?? |
| 31st October 2007 Patti | cameras - From: Even more signs Yeeezzzzzzzzzz! You can't even go camping and for a walk without your hair combed and make-up on anymore!!! Another good reason not to exercise!!! |
| 31st October 2007 Danielson | Thank you. Why haven't I been - From: Signs of our times notified of yours? We miss you. We'll be there next Thursday or Friday. |
| 31st October 2007 Germaine | Great Site - From: Signs of our times You are doing a fabulous job with your site....keep it up!!!! |
| 31st October 2007 Randi Fuchs | - From: Fires Vicki, I'm so glad you're safe. My school and my students are praying for all who have been affected with the fires. God Bless you, Randi |
| 29th October 2007 Danielson | Back at ya' - From: Acorns Oh, aren't you the helpful one!!! And don't encourage me to keep anything~~our rule is "If it's not used for something, it's not kept." Sounded like a good rule in May, but I'm not loving it in October! |
| 29th October 2007 margo gross | nuts to you - From: Acorns I really think you should keep some of those acorns. They will always serve as a reminder of where you have been. See just when you think you have rid yourself of all of the useless collections of crap, I encourage you to start collecting! Besides sometimes instead of telling Bob he is nuts - you could just leave a couple laying in his coffee cup!! Love you, Margo |
| 29th October 2007 Danielson | Thanks for your prayers, Randi, - From: Busy week we always covet them, and I'd ask that your prayers include the project we're working on. We feel very blessed to be able to live this lifestyle. |
| 28th October 2007 Randi Fuchs | Great to hear from your travels! - From: Busy week Vicki, This is great to read your comments about your mission work and to see pictures also. You and Bob are in my prayers and we pray that the Lord may continue to bless all that you do. |
| 26th October 2007 joan anderson | LOL - From: Busy week I was laughing before I got to the parenthesis...who would believe you have added quilting to your resume! |
| 24th October 2007 Micheal | Walnuts - From: Fires The Walnuts you were addressing a couple days ago, have many uses. not only is the hulls used for stains and dyes, but the shells are used as a blasting medium, as in sand blasting, for removing coatings from items where coal slag or other blasting substances would be too harsh. |
| 23rd October 2007 Danielson | Hey, if you want dog kennels, - From: Country Cowboy Church you're our summer project. Just say the word, and we'll be living by your garbage bins! |
| 23rd October 2007 Danielson | Back at you, my dear friend... - From: Country Cowboy Church as blessed as we are to be doing this, it's so hard to be away from friends. It's my privilege to share with you. |
| 23rd October 2007 Danielson | What's work???? - From: Nuts to you We are working~~or what everyone calls work! The men are working hard~~everything has to be carried from on slope to another, no matter what they're working on. And the lumber company that dropped off the wood didn't do them any favors by placing it where they did. We finished cleaning and resetting the gift shop, and yesterday Wanda and I worked in the flower beds, and Nancy and Germaine sewed rags out of raggedy towels. Today we all four cleaned one of the houses that a staff member is moving into. It took four of us 3 1/2 hours (that's our work day!) and it looks terrific, and smells wonderful! Hey, they call that working! |
| 23rd October 2007 Danielson | Even more nuts! - From: Nuts to you What a funny story! Thanks for sharing...it made both of us laugh, and Bob commented that it would be fun to try that from the #6 tee box in Sidney! |
| 23rd October 2007 Jean | Hello, from ND - From: Country Cowboy Church I finally had a chance to get caught up on your blog! I was so far behind I even made a bag of popcorn to enjoy with the show! What a beautiful adventure you are on! I love your personal comments along with the stories....it is like carrying on a conversation with you! Hi, Patty! North Dakota misses you both! I am waiting to see if you get to practice building dog kennels!! Hugs from here! Love you guys! Jean |
| 22nd October 2007 Patti | Miss you terribly!!! - From: Country Cowboy Church Your messages and pictures and so fun and interesting at the same time. Thank you for sounding like yourself in them. It brings you so much closer and we miss you so much. You were the best neighbors we have ever had!!! And a hard act to follow. We love you and pray for you and your ministry. I have to admit that we also pray a little selfishly and pray that God brings you back this way safe and sound. |
| 22nd October 2007 Patti | Work Hours????????? - From: Nuts to you From the number of pictures and all the fun places you get to go and see, when exactly were those work hours????? |
| 22nd October 2007 carrell evans | walnuts - From: Nuts to you That is very cool that the English walnuts fall out of the hull! We used to have black walnut trees in our yard in Prosser, WA. They fell with the hull and made such a mess on the ground if you didn't pick them up, because the hulls had to either rot off the nut or be chewed off by the squirrels who then buried them ALL OVER the yard creating quite a washboard for mowing or a forest of little walnut trees. The hulls stained the hands badly. Needless to say, our children hated the "on" years for the walnuts (bi-annually producing) because they had to pick them up. One year our son, John, and his friend took a bucket full and a couple of drivers to the overlook on Horse Heaven hills and...You get the picture. |
| 21st October 2007 Danielson | Thanks for the information! - From: Nuts to you There are a lot of them around here, so they must work hard on finding space! |
| 21st October 2007 MikeWas | Woodpeckers love to make noise - From: Nuts to you Woodpeckers marking their territory will peck on whatever makes the most noise. The farther the noise carries the farther he is announcing his territory. In the wild they love hollow trees, the cavity is a big resonant chamber. But they'll pound on pipes, cars, downspouts, metal utility poles ... you name it! |
| 21st October 2007 Danielson | H, Margo! - From: Well into week one... If we don't have tattoos when we leave (and we won't!) it won't be for lack of opportunity! We saw a place yesterday that advertised tattoos, and I wouldn't drink a can of pop that came out of there, let alone allow them to put something on my bare skin!!! |
| 19th October 2007 margo gross | tattoo - From: Well into week one... Well, it looks like you are really getting into California. Guess you know now why so many people move there. I wonder if you spend 6 months there will you end up with tattoos? Now, that would be a story to tell. Seriously I love your stories and pictures. You have no idea how they brighten my day. Love and miss you. Margo |
| 17th October 2007 Danielson | Puple hair? Not yet.... - From: Definitely in California They say they keep the pools at 65 year around! Needless to say, there's no one swimming now! |
| 17th October 2007 Danielson | Silver Spur - From: Silver Spur Christian Camp and Conference Center The acorns sound like throwing a rock against a building. Wanda got hit on the head by one, and has a lump there. If they hit the plastic cover on the ceiling vents, it gets your attention for sure! Sometimes they land on the roof and we can hear them roll, but sometimes they hit and stay. The acorns are anywhere from an inch to three inches long. I didn't know they were that big. |
| 16th October 2007 Lisa | - From: Silver Spur Christian Camp and Conference Center the colors are beautiful! |
| 16th October 2007 Patti | Great Pictures! - From: Silver Spur Christian Camp and Conference Center Man O Man! What glorious colors on those Oak leaves. I can't imagine having those acorns drop all the time. Does it sound like big hail or just soft sounds since there isn't as much force behind them? |
| 16th October 2007 Patti | - From: Definitely in California Please don't tell me that you and Bob have tried to look like the "natives" there and have purpled hair and are wearing weirder (wierder?) clothes than usual!! How warm is the water? When we were in Charleston, it was 86 degrees. Man how I loved that since our hot tub quit working. |
| 12th October 2007 Danielson | Bummer... - From: Driving through Oregon We should have gone there, but now we're a long way from Eureka. Another time.... |
| 11th October 2007 Lisa | yep! - From: Driving through Oregon Blair says we were almost to Eureka, so it must have been someone there that told you that. You should ask for directions and go see it. Wedding Rock is the one we were on :) |
| 10th October 2007 Danielson | Patrick's Point? - From: Driving through Oregon Where ever we go I try to ask a local person what we should see, and someone told us to be sure to go to Patrick's Point. I can't remember who, but it couldn't have been someone in Eureka, could it? We didn't see it because we couldn't find it. Weird! |
| 10th October 2007 Lisa | - From: Driving through Oregon Some of these pics look SO Much like Patrick's Point- where Blair proposed. As we sat up on the huuuuge rock and looked down, we saw things like those huge rocks coming up out of the ocean, and the waves crashing onto the beach after they passed the rocks/boulders whatever they are. These are gorgeous pics, and I know exactly what you mean about the beauty! I love that area. |
| 2nd October 2007 Danielson | Pilings... - From: Wood work I told Carrell I had heard this term used, but wasn't sure what was being referred to. We've been told they are where things were built, but that's so hard to believe when you see how far out into the water they are, and that there are soooo many of them. Of course there are scads more during low tide, but even when the tide is high I wonder what in the world was built clear out there! Or what was built in that little spot of water standing all by itself! Thanks for the information. Vicki |
| 2nd October 2007 Carrell Evans | poles? - From: Wood work Vicki, as requested, I am letting others know that these "poles" are called "pilings," and they would have at one time held up a pier or dock which would indicate that they are or were in a tidal zone or that the water is down. |
| 1st October 2007 Danielson | Ammo - From: Lighthouses It sure could be. Most of that talk was among the guys, and I didn't pretend to follow along. If someone else says it, go with their commentary! Are you at the cabin? |
| 1st October 2007 Patti | gun & amunition room - From: Lighthouses Carl said that some of the places we have gone by forts and such had places that looked like this and were to store amunition and guns. What do you think? |
| 30th September 2007 Danielson | Ants - From: Just chat & smile I haven't even noticed the ants. I was afraid you were going to say you salted and then fried the slugs. I'm not exaggerating their size, am I? They are U-G-L-Y. |
| 30th September 2007 Patti | Slugs - From: Just chat & smile Oh jep! I remember those slugs. We used to take and pour salt on them to disolve them. No way was I touching one either. I completely agree with you. Have you had any run in(s) with big ants? |
| 27th September 2007 lonelybiker | Haha! - From: Several signs Haha,funny signs! |
| 21st September 2007 Danielson | Berries - From: Time and Temp In Canada I was introduced to Saskatoons. They were small, but very sweet. We saw some at a farmers market that were bigger, and quite spendy, but worth it. The only berries I really know are chokecherries, and you sure don't pick and eat those more than once. They're called CHOKEcherries for a reason! They make a great syrup or jelly though. |
| 21st September 2007 Norma | BERRIES - From: Time and Temp The blackberries are my favorite berries------In MO. we never heard of the Marion berries,,but,,there is a place in Boring Oregon where we used to order them by the bucket, along with all other fruits, they were delicious,, they did this as a fund raisers for churches,,,,I do not hear from them now & don't know of a place close by that would order them now.... |
| 21st September 2007 Danielson | Berries - From: Time and Temp I hear about Marion Berries, but haven't seen any. People around here are careful about eating berries they don't know, so I'm being careful too! |
| 21st September 2007 Patti | Great Pictures! - From: Time and Temp Wow! I love your pictures and captions. As I said before, they bring back so many memories. I used to love going for walks with my Grandma because you could eat berries during the whole walk. They grew everywhere. Although I remember eating more Marion (sp?) berries than black berries. And you're right. Their flavor is fantastic. |
| 21st September 2007 Danielson | :) - From: Loomis Lake Is it even obvious to others?! (I think I've figured out how to respond to comments.....I think....) |
| 21st September 2007 Patti | Yep! - From: Loomis Lake He definitely seems to have that look on his face doesn't he? It's almost like reminding you that this is the MENS' domain, Woman!! |
| 19th September 2007 Patti | Pictures of Holly Bring back Many memories - From: Astoria Your pictures of the Holly brings back so many memories for me. With my relatives that lived in Tacoma and the surrounding area, many had holly bushes and trees. My Grandma would send us some every Christmas. I miss that so much now that she isn't with us any longer. Those little things are such special touches in our traditions. The pictures of the mountain tops also remind me of how the weather was so many times when we visited there. |
| 18th September 2007 Danielson | Petunias - From: Astoria Petunias in the fall? What country are you in?!! |
| 18th September 2007 Margo | holly bushes - From: Astoria And Bob didn't think he would like the East Coast. We have holly bushes growing in our yard. I went to the garden nursery to purchase trees and plants when we moved here. I was shocked to see one of the trees that many people plant is a holly tree. We also know when winter is approaching because everyone plants petunias! Terrific pictures thanks for sharing. |
| 18th September 2007 Jean | Luv Ya - From: Long Beach Back with you and trying to keep up with you! Things are gradually quieting down and people actually think I can be alone for awhile and I appreciate that! Think of you daily! |
| 18th September 2007 Jean | Drive SLow? - From: First work day Our signs always say: SLOW children at play. These make more sense!! |
| 17th September 2007 Margo | glad to see you again - From: Long Beach I'm so glad to see you again. I was getting worried, I kept checking your blog and didn't see anything since you left Canada. You both look so happy and healthy, keep up the good work and keep having fun. Love, Aunt Margo! |
| 13th September 2007 Joan & Mike | We're finally with you!! - From: Around camp Add me to the list of lst time bloggers. Patti got me set up so now I feel really technically alert!! Fun to read all about you guys and your adventures. Keep up the good works!! |
| 13th September 2007 Brian and Shari | - From: We're here!! It's nice to see that your blog is in working order again! We enjoy following your travels - Sorry we weren't able to meet up this summer - guess it wasn't meant to be! Enjoy your stay in Washington - keep the stories and pictures coming!! Love you, Brian and Shari |
| 18th July 2007 Danielson | Hi, Jeanne! - From: Parade Day I think about you often, and wonder how your summer is going. Is Ron getting stronger? Hug your grandkids for me..... |
| 18th July 2007 Jean | At last - From: Parade Day Hello!!!! I finally had a chance to sit down and go through your entries. I still have a grin pasted on my face! I was concerned that you were taking the extra seating from the auditorium back to your camper!! Waste not, want not! Reading your blogs is like having a short visit with you on a daily basis! I will be checking in more often! I think of you both all the time! |
| 17th July 2007 Karen | enjoying the news - From: Parade Day We are enjoying the entries each day. It sounds like you are doing well. We have always wanted to go to the Calgery Stampede. Some day I am sure we will. I was surprised it was too hot to go to the parade. Being so far north seems like it would be cooler. The dinner threater reminded me of the one we all went to at Fort Peck. They didn't have dinner so this one was even more fancy. I was wondering what was for dinner? I'm still using things I would have bought in 1979. I think they are a little out of touch of what old is. Is there a way to see your photo album? I mean all your photos or are they viewed just on that certain day. Keep up the great work. You are doing a good job keeping it interesting. We will be looking forward to your next adventure. Hugs around, we send our love. |
| 17th July 2007 Patti & Carl | Beautiful scenery - From: Parade Day You are right, they are gorgeous. I keep thinking how great it is to be having more "firsts" in you lives. As a (retired) teacher, don't you keep feeling like you should be taking notes and pictures to add to your classes? |
| 16th July 2007 Patti | What????????? - From: Tour Day: Rosebud Dinner Theatre Ok, you say you saw the Good Doctor. I think that means you saw a show called the Good Doctor, or does it mean you had an appointment with a "ggod Doctor"? Did you go with friends or just the two of you? Tell me what you miss most about us???????? |
| 10th July 2007 Dave Hesje | July 4th - From: Happy 4th!! Sorry you missed out on July 4th. It was my first one in the states and it was truly amazing how much it is celebrated. The whole Sidney skyline ws lit up for at least 1 hour with fireworks. I think the amount of money spent could fund Canada for a year. Anyhow it was awesome. Serving God always carry a price. Thanks for being willing to pay it. In His Grip Pastor Dave |
| 10th July 2007 Darcy Prevost | What an adventure! - From: Sunday Greetings Bob & Vicki! I've finally had time and a working computer and sat down to read all of your entries at once! What an adventure you are on, and I'm a little jealous - ready for an adventure of my own. You are so right to take advantage of the opportunity to sight see and experience the area and culture, who knows when the chance might come again... and how fun getting to tackle different projects, they sound perfect for both of you. I know you are much appreciated- even though you feel you are "receiving", look at how much we needed the RVer's who helped with the parsonage! We had a very hot 4th, but a great turn out in Lambert, and a wonderful "first" community event put on at the church (games, food, fellowship and fireworks). You are missed more than you both know! (Although I have to say that Maddie does miss Bob a little more than Vicki, ha, she always thinks she sees him at church... "there's Bob!") Keep writing, God bless you both! Darcy and the Prevosts |
| 2nd July 2007 Joan | - From: We're HERE!! I just read all of your entries and glad you are seeing the sun before 8. Mornings really are the best! Did you send your blog address to all the "verse a day" people? If not would you like me too? I know everyone would like to hear about your adventures. |
| 1st July 2007 Patti & Carl | Hmmmmmmm! - From: Sunshine finally.... Is it both of you that it is new to or just you asking for those pesky details?????????? Thank you for the updates, keep them coming. We are praying for you. It has been beautiful here too but things are drying out and with all the rain, its a little scary. Have a great July 4th!! Our love & prayers, Carl & Patti |
| 27th June 2007 Carolyn | - From: Sunshine finally.... Hey. just checked your blog site and found out that you made it safely. It will be fun to keep up on all your news. So, do all libraries have back rooms? Was it as full as ours usually is? At least you have experience in cleaning them out. Alls well in Sidney, haven't been to pizza lately. |
| 26th June 2007 Danielson | - From: Leaving Montana There are three couples on this project, and we're parked in a nice grassy site that the college has. Our morning devotions are done by a different member of the RVICS team, so whatever that person selects is what the daily devotion is. On Wednesday evenings we have a Bible study which is lead by someone from the project...in this case, it's lead by the college president. We are feeling great, although I'd have to admit, Sara is right about the getting up part! 6:45 comes early! I'm working on getting photos in here...that's a little trickier..... :) |
| 26th June 2007 chris viets | At last! - From: Leaving Montana You are there at last....horray! How fun, you are my first blog to read and respond to....I feel so sophisticated. All is well here, we seem to be in a thunder storm rut, some hail last week here, Glascow lost windows, roofs, crops, Forsyth lost lots of crops. It is muggy but oh so green. Jill and I decided we are in denial that you will be gone for ever....we are thinking you will keep turning up here from time to time.....that is a command not a suggesstion!!!. Lots of love, Chris |
| 24th June 2007 Lisa | LOL - From: Leaving Montana You take care of that pitcher! |
| 24th June 2007 Sara | - From: We're HERE!! This is SO great! But how on earth are you two going to be up by 8? You haven't seen 8 o'clock in months :) |
| 23rd June 2007 Bill Hedegaard | Water - From: Leaving Montana Remember the water at the store, 3.76 looks like a bargin to me. Have a great time & work hard. |
| 23rd June 2007 Patti | Hugs to You!! - From: Leaving Montana Thank you so much for your entries. Keep it up even if they are short. It shortens the distance so much and feels like a warm hug. We miss you and pray each day for you and your ministering. I don't see any pictures! Yes Calgary is big it was big when we were there and that was a long time ago. How many couples will you be working with? Are you devotions on random areas or focussed on certain scriptures? Where are you parked? Is everyone parked in the same area or are you scattered? How are you feeling physically? Emotionally? Spiritually? Love and kisses, Patti |
| 23rd June 2007 Richard | Thanks - From: We're HERE!! Thanks for setting up this site. It will be very nice to be able to travel with you and keep up with what you are doing. |
