Well we arrived in Rome and checked into our amazing hotel! It was very nice. We ate some supper at a gross restaurant and went to bed. We had another tour the following day and it was a biggy. In one day, we managed to see Trevi Fountain, THe Pantheon, Piazza Colonna (has a column dedicated to an Emperor), Piazza Navoni which was built on an ancient arena, Basillica San Pietro (Vatican), Piazza Campidoglio which was completely designed by Michelangelo, The Forum, St. Paul's Cathedral, and of course the Colosseum! Well, we returned from a rather interesting trip to Capri. To be honest, we weren't really looking forward to another group trip but it was going to be Capri....how bad could it be. To start off, we boarded a boat for the 30 minute ride to the island. The water was very very rough. There were many people on board who were throwing up and anyone who knows me, knows that I don't do well on boats and this was no exception. Well we did actually make it to Sorrento. We arrived on the 12th and got picked up in Naples at the train station by this guy. He drove us to Sorrento which took us a while b/c of the traffic. Oh, and did I mention the heat?? He droove like a crazy person and we were scared. That is the way that everyone dirves here. Well we barely made it to Siena... Who thought driving in Italy would be HELL, yes Hell. So we picked up the car in Florence (a standard which Dana told me I couldn't drive and she was right, I was frustrated with the bloody one way streets and the streets without proper signage, oh wait that's every street in Italy!!!) So we made it to Siena with two different instructions on how to easily get to our hotel. Yet we got lost not once but numerous times... But we did find a few gas stations and the train station! Hello again! We are now in beautiful Florence. It is fabulous - except for the swealtering heat. At 7:30 this morning it was already 26 degrees with a humidex of 56. Yikes. Well we have one more day here and then we are off to Sienna. We rent our car tomorrow and Ryan gets to drive. He isn't very excited because the drivers are crazy. Anywho.....we'll be in touch. Ciao!
