Great Writing Dan,
I've noticed that you have not posted in a long time. I miss your blogs and photos. I hope you will blog again. I enjoyed following along on the trip you took with your sons. You have a talent for writing.
Happy holidays, MJ
Home Thanks for the great trip.
I am glad Vicki was with you as every since you have been gone she has been with me. Today was St. Nick's Sale and the bake sale. I can tell you she was there today and enjoyed all the jokes and catty comments, I could almost see her laughing. Very few people are lucky enough to have a close friend. I have been pleased I have had both of you. Lucky me!
great park Really underrated landscape there. Wind Cave is a must do if in the area especially if you like wildlife:

Dan, I love the turban. What an adventure you guys have had. Can't wait to see you and hear more first hand. You all look well and I can tell you are enjoying yourselves.
WOW! What an exciting place! I especially liked the feel of the video. Good thing you didn't make a wrong turn! Dan, would you be allowed to wear the turban in public? Sure looks good on you (even though it's UK blue). Too bad you couldn't find one in IU red.
Anxious to see you all!

Fantastic! We've been anxiously waiting for your Granada blog, even tho your whole trip descriptions have been absolutely wonderful - thanks so much for including us.
My Great-great grandfather spent 3 years touring Spain in the 1870s and published 2 tedious volumes about it, but I was delightedd to pull it out and compare his descriptions with some of your Alhambra photos and imagine him being there with you, walking thru them, imagining with him sultanas bathing in those lovely pools. And he mentions in detail your plaque about the 777 years of moorish occupation.
We're so glad to assume that you three have safely returned.

Determination! Nothing was going to stop you three explorers from finding the "Holy Grail" of port wine. Well done! I can't wait to learn what world class port tastes like. However, I wouldn't blame you if those bottles don't make it home.
Porto I can't wait to talk to you about Port. My Mother loved good Port but I have never had her pallate for it. The photo of the hill top castle is lovely, Again thanks
Salamanca Wow a picture of me from my dreams, oh to be that thin again, oh well. We have never been to Spain but your pictures really make us want to go. I am having the best time on this trip. Thanks for the free ride.
Greetings Hi McQuillens, I'm glad to hear ya'll had a safe and almost uneventful trip from the US to Spain. I hope your travels in Spain are every bit as enjoyable as your travels here in the US.
"The Big Easy" Great blog from NO! You sure captured the atmosphere and the FOOD! Yum! I guess getting back to city life wasn't too painful to endure.

New Orleans I loved the entry. I felt as though I was right there with you and all of your experiences. I love New Orleans. It is a great city, and a real one of a kind. Sounds like you guys are having a great time. Can't wait to read more.
Awe inspiring Dan, Andrew, and Alec,
What an amazing place! Thanks for another fascinating description. Rick Steves and Rudy Maxa had better watch out!
Keep on truckin!!

I am jealous! I just got caught up on your adventures and I am really jealous. It sounds like you are having a wonderful time and your pictures are spectacular. You all look well rested and seem to be having a lot of fun. Will look forward to reading more.
Enjoying the blog Hey guys,
I haven't checked your blog in a while, and finally found some time to catch up. The pictures you posted of the Southwest are very impressive. I've only been to Phoenix, but my brief and limited time out there was very eye opening to me. Living here in the east I am so accustomed to seeing green everywhere, it was different to see the desert and the lack of the green landscapes. Also, it was very different to see mostly flat land where your field of vision stretches to the horizon. Very different from the rolling hills of home.
Hope all is going well, it looks like yall are really seeing some interesting and historic sites and having a good time.
wow Stunning stuff. Very jealous.
Sad news from Chicago: The coffee shop we went to the morning you left has completely abandoned whatever that brewing process was and are using the Chemex system. Coffee is still good, but not nearly as odd. They must have changed their system within a few days of our visit.
Vegas, how exciting! Hope you three have a good time. Looks like you had a very relaxing time in LA; I'm sure you needed it after all of your travels (and driving!) Miss you all. Love, Lauren
I am traveling this Fall with my sons, Andrew and Alec. We will be exploring our country, from coast to coast and back, and then will finish our travels in Spain, Portugal, and Morocco. We all miss my late wife, Vicki, who will be with us in spirit. ... full info
