So, after an uncomfortable, cold and long overnight flight, Charlie and I landed in Bangkok, Sunday afternoon, 3.30pm local time, to be welcomed by 35 degree heat and high humidity! Without a place to stay, we passed through immigration to grab a taxi outside the airport. Asking for the center of Bangkok to find a hotel turned out to be the start of a rather lucky course of events. A taxi took us to the Bangkok Central shopping center. Attached on the side is a hotel charging 250 pounds a night which was a bit steep.
