Friday night in San Diego. Everywhere is happy hour and everyone is very merry. Even the people working - in fact, i reckon the people working were happier than those of us enjoying happy hour - Americans are so CHEERY!!! But i must say the weather here is stunning so i am drawing a conclusion that sunny weather = happy people. I should have known that already having lived in Brisbane. San Diego is a bloody fantastic town. Its gorgeous for one and there are so many places to eat and drink! The hotel where we are staying is a nightclub hot spot and yes, Mick and i actually went to the nightclub cause they were serving free vodka - free vodka!!!! Our day started 36 hours ago and still has 3 hours to go.... If this doesn't make much sense then you and I are on the same wavelength. 4am on Wednesday the 15th i woke up and systematically finalised all those bits before you actually walk out the door.... passport - check hangover - check passport - check turn electricity off - check laptop - check passport - check ....you know how it goes. And of course starting the day at 4am, nothing seems real anyways. At the airport we thought that it was going to be a breeze, being in business class and all. We forgot one thing though.. we're in Melbourne!!!! Melbourne airport is horrible. It's all about the planning... after many days/weeks/months planning we have finally committed and booked the tickets!! It's round the world time with the pseudo RTW ticket from Lufthansa.. USA Germany United Kingdom Thailand All countries with a great beer drinking culture.. it should be a great trip. As usual we have booked in a side trip before we take off around the world.
