I'm amazed!! Hi Gary,
Thanks for including me on your blog list. It has been a joy to visit Jingdezhen through this portal. I am amazed at your dedication to your art, and I am impressed by the network of Chinese friends you have established to help you with your work. Well done! If my wife and I happen to be in Minnesota when your exhibit is staged, we'll be sure and come by to see your work.

Memories! Congrats on your return trip--which brings back memories of our visit there--with you & the MN group--a few years back! Can't wait to see your new work.
Niiiice! a dance party - it's SO YOU!!!
Are you recognizing more Chinese words as they flow by in conversation? Hope you're finding time to get some clay stuff done! It sounds like you are enjoying your summer -
At this time, what is your return date?
It's going to be really hot here the rest of July - so says the weather guy... it will feel like China!
Gardens are going well, lots of rain, not too many bugs. Its a good day for a bike ride today -- then gotta get some work done weed-whacking.
Kristen offered to go up to see her gma last weekend!! So she and I drove up for the day. It was a good time in the car - just talking and dreaming and being together. what a nice feeling. and Mom was delighted to have the visit. I had just taken her up to my brother's lake place over the 4th of July weekend - had to talk her into it, but she seemed to enjoy the time.
Good Cuban salsa group at the Cedar last week-- "Maraca' - saw all the 'old timers' there. nice to dance on that spacious wood floor.
It looked like a dance studio where you were teaching for that dance party -- was it?
take care, keep having fun!

What an experience Wow Gary;
This blog was great. I am so happy for you and the success of your show. I know how effort you put into your work and it was pleasing to see it in a gallery setting. I regret that I was not there to celebrate this event with you.
Please save a catalog for me and I would appreciate your note in side.
I am happy that I was a part of your experience in 2008. Working with you gave me a great deal if insite on how to create art in a culture far from our own.
I wish you a successful summer and I await more blog info.

Congratulations!! Gary,
Your description of the arduous process of setting up your show makes me tired just reading it!!
It looks like a lovely gallery, and perhaps some rich Chinese businessman decides to buy a piece at the super-outrageous-price and you can create art in leisure for the next 5 years!!!
Be well, keep creating, and enjoy your new notoriety!!
great holes! love the piece with the holes...now we can really see the inside! looks like you made lots of great work and will do doubt have a wonderful exhibition in china!
Love this piece! Gary, I love the simplicity and elegance of this form. You made so many amazing pieces this summer. Wish I could travel and see the show next year.
Thanks I am very happy with the different bodies of work I created this summer. You inquired about a yellow piece. The sizes are in the text accompanying each piece. I think you refer to one of the smaller slipcast pieces that is about 6" wide.
Congratulations Great new pieces Gary. Wish I had been at San Bao while you were there to see more of the steps involved. You will have an impressive exhibition.
Cheers.ann
Great stuff Hi Gary;'
I really enjoyed looking at your project. It is great. I feel lucky that I have seen some of this work under way. I also have to thank you for bringing all the great images of Sanbao and your Chinese friends. I miss Sanbao and Jingdezhen. Looking forward to spending two weeks there this October.
I am sure your show will be an outstanding success.

Another productive summer! Hi Gary,
I have enjoyed following your summer's adventures through your blogI Seems like Jingdezhen has become your summer home, and it is clear why. What wonderful adventures you are having, and it is amazing what you are able to accomplish during your summer stays. Please keep me posted about your upcoming exhibit.
I am currently in Rochester. Yesterday, as I chatted with my cardiologist at the Mayo Clinic I had the opportunity to tell him of my meeting Ms. Park, one of your student-faculty fellows from the summer 2009, in Atlanta at your poster display at the ASIANetwork Conference and how wonderful it was for me to make the connection with her, as one of your students in this program while at the same time being the daughter of the man who saved my life almost three years ago after I was evacuated from Zhengzhou with heart problems. It is a small world.
I always look forward to the start of each school year. Our work and the time we spend teaching young people is unlike any other. Good luck this academic year.
Van
