Reminiscing Hi Chris, I've enjoyed reading your blog as I was in Kenya for 5 weeks, at St. Dorcas and Watamu. I enjoyed the Rainbow home orphanage, but was not impressed by the health unit. They asked me if I wanted to give innoculations, and I was horrified. I've done fundraising since Dec. and was able to send St. Dorcas, Rainbow and KEEF funds. Life in Africa makes one realize how lucky we are. Take care
gulp This all sounds far far too dangerous Chris....have u taken leave of your senses?! Get some beers delivered and spend the rest of your holiday, erm, life-experience, on a lilo getting drunk in the pool! X
Welcome to my blog about my upcoming adventure to Kenya. I will be spending 3 to 6 mths in Nairobi. During this time I will be volunteering at St.Dorcas Children's home in the Kawangware slum. St Dorcas looks after about 125 children ranging from 3 to 16 years old. 75 of them stay at the orphanage and another 50 come each day for schooling. They are a mix of street children, suffering from HIV/AIDS or abandoned from broken marriages.
I hope you get as much out of reading this blog as I hope to get out of this opportunity. Please do leave comments as I do like to know what people think of t... full info
