Hi Kevin,
Your adventure in Chile sounds amazing!!I can't wait to hear more at Xmas.Just one question-are you keeping your room clean???Love you-Mrs. Spags
Your pictures are awesome Kevin - I am a friend of your Mom's from work and I have so enjoyed your tales and photographs. Take care - this experience will change your life..diane
land tuna hey there. another great and insightful blog. just one thing. what you picture as a chilean tree is actually a mexican import. that type of cactus, called nogal, is originally from mexico. and its fruit is called tuna (the fish is called "atún'' in spanish). as you'll find out, a lot of the trees and plants in chile are foreign (like the eucalyptus tree, which is everywhere in central chile).
¡feliz 18!
SIT on this..... hey. great blog so far. as soon as you started talking about your program's components i knew right away you were abroad with SIT. i'm chilean and i did a fall semester in madagascar in 1997 (wow, 10 years...how time flies....) with SIT and i fucking loved it. i can say it was the best 4 months of my life. you're going to love your time in chile with the program. you should have your family take you to eat seafood empanadas in con con (immediately north of viña). there's also a really neat old bar/eatery called "JB's" (jota be) in valpo which is a good place to get chorrillana's after a night of boozing. wow, 23 women and 3 men. it's interesting how many more women go abroad than men. my program was 5 and 5, the only time they'd had a gender-balanced program (the year before it was 15 women and only one guy). anyway, good luck with everything and i look forward to reading more of your time in chiel. salu2 (saludos).
