love your Blogs Chelsea, Thank you for taking the time out of your incredible journey to give us back home a peek into your world there. For those of us who have not had the good fortune to see the sites outside the U.S. I am grateful for your communication, and sharing a bit of your journey! I can't wait to see your beautiful face at Christmas time! Love you! Amanda
Congratulations you're half way through and flyin... Great going girl and thankyou my nieta preciosa for the wonderful blogs you have provided quite a picture of your journey and carried us with you. I love the photos and your writing is stellar... and of course you speak spanish like a native, verdad? Love ya, Oma
Good Luck OK, I'll wish you luck, since you asked. But, you know luck has nothing to do with it. May your hard work and diligent study reap the rewards you deserve! I'm proud of you. I love you dearly. XOXOXO - Dad.
Schmoo-illa Sunrise Guad. sounds like a blast (except for the stupid bouncers-what were they thinking!) Schmoo looks oh so fine in his new sombrero! Probably won't want to come back to the states at all. Do you're best to convince him we have high fashion in California too! Staying up late to make traditional Turkey Mole for the Mexican themed 4th of July Ellen is having. Miss you!
HOT! Hey Chels! So happy to hear you are having a great time and seeing awesome things. Who is Schmoo? He is cute and seems to tag along with you everywhere you go, but why? I miss you! I love you! Keep having fun!
Hola Mija! Just got back from my trip and caught up with your entries. This sounds "tan divertido"(like so much fun) that I wish I was there.....expect for the "truenos y rayos" (thunder and lightining). Hope you're feeling better.
Mija= little one. Slang for "mi hija".
Yippee yayiyo kayiyeh I am so pleased for you, my daughter. Just returned from Sacramento to get your phone call and emails. It sounds like you're having a grand time. Can you go out with the big pack AND the small groups? Do it all? Hope Schmoo is learning correct Spanish. Maybe she can teach me when you return. Stephan got his Wii- on EBay. Arrived in three days! Love you!

Hearing from You I hope you will keep on writing blog entries, Chelsea, even as your work load gets heavier (no need for lengthy travelogues - short summaries will do.) It is such a pleasure "hearing from you" in this way! In loving and eager anticipation, Dad.
Thinking of you Dear Chelsea,
I am glad you arrived safely. It sounds like food will not be your only adventure!! Yeah for tomatoes!!! Have fun, be safe and learn a lot!! I love You.
Buena Suerte Hi Chelsea! Hope your family is soooo cool. Tell us more about them. I am loving the blog, just worried about what you will find to eat that doesn't involve tomatoes! Give us a shout when you can. You are probably so involved with just trying to figure everything out. Thinking of you....sue
Day one Job well done! Many major hurdles jumped with style and relative ease. Hope you have a great time meeting all you fellow travellers and your host family. My love and thoughts are always with you.
Good Luck! Hey Chels!! I hope your orientation went well and that you have met nice people to figure Mexico out with. Glad you got there safely! Lots of LOVE, Heather
Here I finally am: a third year at UCSD, taking the summer to go get fluent in Spanish in Morelia, Michoacan. When I come back in August I will be preparing for another trip to Oaxaca, Mexico to do field research and then graduate. Yay! But I have lots of adventures to enjoy beofre that...... full info
