alright team!!! part 2/3...enjoy!!! KUNMING This city was a stop over between Emishan and Dali and our train arrived latem which gave us less then 24 hours to explore, see and do everything this place had to offer. We were on day 9 of the tour though…and there was a small issue. There was only one thing on my mind….. HELLOOOO GANG!!!!!!!!!!!! I’d like to start this entry with an apology. I feel that I have really neglected this blog over the past month, and have therefore neglected you all. But it should be duely noted that I tried very hard to keep up with the entries throughout our journeys in China, its just towards the end, I fell a little behind, and then in Hong Kong Jen and I seriously just shopped everyday for a week :-S In any case…the entries that I will include below are the ones I did along the way…so the way in which they’re written (the tense and such) will be different for each city…as well, the entries are substantially longer then they’ve been (which is what has inspired me to just post what I have now, then give your ... read more

Well here we are folks!!! At the end of another tour...today is our last day in Nepal, and again, we will have to politely request that you park it and get a snack..and maybe something to drink, cuz this is gunna be another long one...perhaps even longer then last time!!! I should first start by properly concluding our final days in India. We had 4 days free in Delhi (and this was less then a week after a bomb went off within 1km of our hotel) so needless to say, the two of us were in a bit of a hurry to find somewhere to safely hibernate for a little while. As you can tell by the title folks, we have covered a serious amount of kilomitres in the past week and we've got quite a lot of catching up to do!! (this is fore warning for a MASSIVE blog entry so get some popcorn and make sure you're nice and comfy!!!) Lets start with JODHPUR in this wonderful city we wandered through the markets...visited a big ass fort (this is the history feen in me coming out) sniffed and tasted a few spices, got rammed in the stomach by a freakin street cow (ok, ok that was just me...:-( but it was when the sun went down that things got really spicy.... Lets do a quick re-cap, shall we?? We felt like a little change of scenery so we chose to do a trip to Asia... we wanted a little culture, maybe some good food, so we picked india first...and we have most certainly received the change of scenery and culture we were looking for!!!! The first form of Indian culture following our three days of delirious seclusion in our hotel room came in the form of a jam-packed metro (which is Indian for sky train) following this experience i will never find myself questioning the efficiency of vancouver transit :-· picture with me the following scene... mid-day sun...sweat....think about the busiest skytrain you've ever been on and multiply it by 12..then throw a little B.O no, make that A LOT of B.O into the mix. WE DID IT!!!!! so here we are in India!! took us about 2 & 1/2 hours after our flight landed to actually arrive at the hotel we're staying at becuase of a little mix up with the transfer we arranged through Gap *(note to self for the future...NEVER do anything through Gap Adventure Tours again...all of you can also feel free to boycott the company willing to leave us stranded at the airport alone and with no contact numbers that actually work! :-· anyhoo... after a few shady run-ins with the locals on our first day we opted to get into our room and lock the door for our first 36 hours in India. **GOOD NEWS: we came prepaired for such a situation. we have made good use of the cards, various trivia booklets, crayons & ... read more

YEAAAAA!!!!! so the two of us have tag-teamed a nice asian business man...why did we tag team him you ask?? well cuz the dude had a computer!!! thats why!!! in celebration of our accomplishment jen and i have decided to post the first 5 pictures of asia tour 2008!!! (please bare in mind that these pictures were taken under extreme circumstances...the weather was HORRID when we left this morning... makeup is now illegal on airplanes...we were mauled by a wild pack of moose and antelope on the way into YVR ANNND we were both strip-searched and interrigated for 2 hours. now after this whole ordeal we took a few pics just to document our arrival at LAX, but again, if our appearance seems slightly comprimised from the chizzled perfection we usually attain in terms of appearance, ... read more
