Just as finals are starting and i'm stressing out like crazy... my big brother Mike stops by with his chica, Meggan to travel Spain. He arrives, we go to a bull fight, then he leaves for Barcelona for a few days. When they come back, we got to some nice restaurants and museums, and just walk around the city. For my last trip out of Madrid.. until I go home to New York... we went to Toledo with the school. Toledo is known for being the city of cultures, it has 2 of the 3 surviving Synagogues in Spain as well as a famous Cathedral and Mosque. It is also known for its metal work. They sell many large and very sharp swords and such. They also work with GOLD... pure gold plates, hand-crafted that cost over 2,000 euro. It's crazy! [View Full Entry]

So Pompei! It was quite a ride away from Rome, but definately worth it. It was the last day of my spring break and a lot of walking. My feet were dying Some history: If you didn't know, Pompei suffered serious earthquake in 62 AD, putting most of the city in ruins. In 79 AD, when Mt. Vesuvius erupted, burying the town in ash and rock, repairs to the city still had not been finished. Exploration did not begin unti 1748, finding the city still in ruins. So Rome was pretty amazing. There were plenty of ruins and statues and fountains and tourists. The Colosseum was definately the most breath-taking, but that is to be expected. We spent an entire day in the Vatican and another just trying to see all the other famous sites. Many things were being renovated, but everything was still gorgeous. Take a look at the pictures... So Venice was nice. We didn't go for a gondola ride but that's okay... it would have cost a fortune and they don't even sing or anything. The only thing is that Venice is an island, so it took forever to actually get there and it cost a lot too. My favorite thing was Murano Island, where they make a lot of glass.
