" Clonakilty City" Hi there I'm the jelly maker you commented on in your blog. A friend came across the blog. We were chuffed to read ... the city.... Clonakilty is a small town! I am taking a German group around Ireland next week, visiting Ballinasloe in the midlands. Doing a bit of research I came across the Kelly Clan! They overcame a well known group " The Fir Bolg" and took over the area. The Kelly crest is incoporated into the town's symbol! U Ceallaigh Abu!!!
Bantry So glad to hear about your travels. It brings back memories. Keep up the blogging.
You are very close to the ancestral home of my great-great-grandmother (on the Wines' side) . She left the farm in Skibereen and came to Iowa in 1880. Local cousins, the O'Shea's, have a B&B near Bantry where Linda and I stayed on our Irish trip.
good travels I just found your travel log and enjoy hearing about the sights from Ireland. You are visiting many of the same places that Linda and I enjoyed back in 1995. I particularly enjoy how you've been dealing with the driving - it's a challenge, isn't it? Have a Guiness for me today!
Day 7 Dublin Hi Katie--We have lots of pictures but I haven't figured out how to post them. I'm glad you are enjoying our blog. We only took one cab and it was eu$10 for about 5 miles.
