4.30am we board the busiest bus in Cuzco to drive three hours to Mollepata; the start of our hike. We were walking by 9. Thank god that this time we have horses to carry our baggage, a service we became increasingly grateful for! The ten of us (5 Ausies, another English girl, one Catalan, our guide and us) set off from Molle for Soraypampa, arriving at about 5, with only an hour before sunset. Soraypampa, a white capped mountain of about 6000m, is at the head of an extensive valley (that we spent the entire day hiking up). We camped that night at about 4900m, in the shadow of Sorry-papa, with a -5 degree wind sliding off the white slopes and right into our sleeping bags. Needless to say that no-one slept well, one girl
