flea market I was intrigued so found this for the origin of "flea market": http://ask.yahoo.com/ask/20010709.html
You guys are having too much fun! Keep the journals coming.
what a car How could you not include a pic of the Lamborghini from the front ?
I learned a lot from this entry. I agree with your final statement the speed limit in the US should be increased. The increase however should be tied to vehicle gross weight; the semi truck drivers on the east cost are insane and their vehicles should be confined to the right lane. I can't help but wonder - are there any european countries (other than the UK) where people drove on the left?
Fa Bello Venezia CM there is no guidebook or map in the world that can help navigate though the most confussing city in the world.... but isn't it great to just wonder around? Everyday in Venice was like Christmas morning for me, with a magnificent gift at every turn. Sorry to hear that J was ill. I love his Casanova do!
family style It's interesting that a big trend in "hot restaurants" right now is the "communal table". A lot of new restaurants are having large tables where you all dine together. I think it would be fun (I've done it at other restaurants--"Express Cuisine" on Vashon, "Salumi's" downtown . . . but I wonder how long the trend will last and whether people will embrace it or not. Interesting!
ummmm me hunter! Well, J looks a little scary with that sword standing over his meat... hummmm. It's like some caveman instinct has taken over his body, he looks proud and serious about his kill. CM, I wouldn't let him but any sword souvenirs... just something to consider!
Just a remark Remember that a Madrid-Zurich flight is considered domestic since both countries signed the Schengen Agreement. Once you enter the EU Schengen Area you are free to move around and no border control should request your passport, even if you're a non EU citizen. About liquids and other stuff control...well you might be right.
Holy Toledo! Toledo is one of my favorite cities in the world. It played a major role in the intellectual history of 'the west' by being the place that the great works of the ancient Greeks and Romans were translated back to European languages from the Arabic where they had been kept and respected during the 'Dark Ages' of Vatican oppression. The Toledo Cathedral is, in my humble opinion, the most wonderful in all of Europe. Good destination choice you guys. Have fun.
european vacation days yea, william has a hard time working with them since they take so many holiday days!! it's too bad that americans are not like the europeans in taking all those holidays!
spanish yea, when we visited barcelona, i really didn't like how late they eat! we ate dinner at like 10 and finished at midnight! i don't know how they do it! i don't like that! i couldn't live there because of that reason.
So What! Big deal: sand and clear water. We've got that in spades here in Thailand, but the food is better! Sheesh. Get out of that God Forsaken place and get to Thailand quick! Looking forward to your arrival. We have booked a Bangkok riverside Thai sound and lights drama production for you (and us) after your arrival. Khun Dang will pick you up at the new airport.
WOW Wow, simlpy lovely! If J's day job ever fails (which I hope it doesn't), he should become a photographer. These photos are wonderful. I can feel the breeze, smell the salt and hear the sounds of the water gently lapping on shore.
the baths i thought after reading the baths, it was gonna be like the roman baths, a place where people use to bathe! but nonetheless, the baths are gorgeous!!!!

Bugs Those red bugs with the X are called "Cotton Stainers". Why do I know this you may ask? They're illustrated in one of Logan's books! It's called "The Icky Bug Alphabet Board Book". I would love to be sitting by any of the bays with y'all! I can't wait to read more.
In 2008, 2009 and 2010, we travelled mostly in the Caribbean, US, Canada and Hawaii. We were just too busy to post travelblogs, and Facebook has been easier to post pictures to, although not as good as this site. Hopefully we'll get back to posting our world travels to this site!
