Re: No TV in homestay
Haha... a TV was as good as none if all the shows were in Bahasa Indonesia courtesy of Metro TV, the nation's free to air channel. There were no cable TVs.

Basically there is nothing much there. But companions play a very impt role tat sparks up the boring place. We are very good at playing phototaking for a good 30 mins with just one harbour. =P

I WAS STATIONED AT SUWON AB 1953-54. THE VILLAGE WAS REALLY NOTHING TO SEE. BUT TIN SHACKS AND NO RUNNING WATER. +. I DO REMEMBER AN ARCHWAY LEADING OUT OF THE VILLAGE.PLENTY OF RICE FIELDS AND HONEY BUCKETS....

Hi Frankie, Thanks so much for your comments. Vietnam certainly had a weather variation from central to south. It was hot and dry in Saigon but wet and cold in Hoi An when I visited. I was quite disappointed with My Son even though I did enjoy the rest of my trip.

Best Time to visit My Son Sanctuary is During the Dry Months
I have been to My Son Sanctuary twice during the months of May/June 2009 & 2010. At this time of the year Central Vietnam is still hot and dry although there are occasional rain during the late afternoon. I can imagine how the whole area looks like during the monsoon season so best to schedule your trip before or after the rainy months.

Hi Aileen, This guesthouse is located next to Hong Gik University Station. Just a couple of stations to Myeongdong. It's relatively clean and convenient just that it really depends very much on your fellow travellers in the room. I took an 8 bedded mixed dorm that came with free internet, drinking water. Oh yes, the bathroom is located with the room itself. :)
