More Updates I've now been here several weeks, and am finally starting to settle into a routine. Trip to Mysore: July 30 Back on July 30, I went to Mysore with some of the other people who are here from the United States. Mysore was the last capital of the Wodeyar Maharajas of the south, and contains one of the larger palaces from the period. Fore more on the history of Mysore, check the Wikipedia entry. We left in the early morning, and drove for several hours to the west and south. The main road between Bangalore and Mysore is not limited access, like a US interstate, but more like the old US highways (US 441, etc.). Not all the road has been four-laned yet, so we had to switch to two-way traffic periodically. Considering the ... read more

We then go down the stairs, and board another bus, and driver another 20 to 30 minutes back out to the next plane. The Air France flight ... read more

You'd think with all the US resources who've travelled to Bangalore over the past year, they'd have come up with some means of streamlining what they could. But noooooo. I'm also scheduled for my shots. So much at the last minute, but that's how it all fell together. My Team Lead has been over in Bangalore for about a month, and her blog is here.... read more

Things are coming together. I have my camera (Pentax *ist DL) and my passport, and I'm working on my visa right now. My departure date is 24 July 2006. This trip is for my company, Accenture. I'll be travelling to our India Delivery Center (IDC) to do what we call Knowledge Transfer (KT) to resources there who will be assuming some of our work for one of our clients that we had been doing stateside. I'm hoping to use my weekends to do some travel. Many folks from Accenture are there doing the same sort of work, and have had a lot of good things to say about the experience.... read more
