It turns out that I arrived in perfect timing for the cherry blossoms. Marissa and I drove to a park in the city and then out to Nihoindara (about 20 minutes away if you dont count the little detour we took in the other direction!!!) where the views of Fuji were great and the blossoms beauiful. We have had lots of funny encounters with people who speak limited English, we tell them we dont understand and yet they just keep on talking and yabbering and laughing. [View Full Entry]

I am in Japan!!! A long way from Adelaide, Australia, but here I am in Shizuoka for a year teaching at an English Kindergarten while seeing and experiencing as much of this crazy, mixed up, amazing country as I can!
