Orkneys You will love the Orkneys. I'm sure Scara Brae will be on your itinerary along with the Churchill barriers and Italian chapel. Our farm is up there , 17 miles from John o Groats between Wick and Thurso. Scrabster is the Thurso port. We now grow windmills on our farm though. Not Christmas trees! Wishing you a great day Ruth xxx
Thanks Hi - thanks for sharing.
A quick (and somewhat impolite) question: with your virtual guide being Russia-based, how do you pay for the tours? With foreign currency transfers recently restricted, I'm having a bit of a hard time figuring out ways of sending money there if need be.
Comment The London eye is one of the most feature and it is being part of symbolize of London. This is the one of the most biggest ferris wheel on the world and many feature on it. Thanks for featuring and sharing us this ferris wheel.
I have been to the Monastery of Kyiv and Pechersk its amazing architecture I enjoyed it. It's a good thing I was able to visit this monastery before my trip to Berlin. I also enjoyed visiting cathedrals in Germany. I travel around Europe by train and I liked the train system in Germany. You can just go to https://www.dbfahrplan.com/de/ . And see where you go by train from where you can get on the train at what time is very convenient. Also, I liked the quality and technology of the furniture in the cabin of the train when I was traveling from Berlin to Cologne got quite a modern train set. I just want to say one thing to travel around Germany on the train It is much cheaper than on your transport and you can see more.
Not the best season for parks :-) Zaryadye does look pretty good in spring/summer/fall, though. Oh, and the boat IS a light-duty icebreaker (all bigger boats from Radisson Flotilla are).
Beautiful It sounds as if your Fly'n'Flop holiday is working out as it should! Lovely descriptions of where you are, as usual. Thoroughly enjoying your trip, thank you. xxx
Slurp ! Oh those beautiful fruits! The strawberries ! Bliss ! I had to send you s note when you mentioned the shoes. When we were there two years ago Paul had brought so called comfortable trainers for walking about. But ! Not being something he usually wears he hadn't realised he must have had them a while. The soles had gone hard. Can you imagine sliding about on those sloping cobbled streets? So yes off we went to the shops. Miraculously they had size 12's so he bought 2 pairs and he's been wearing them fir thus holiday. I do believe he also bought some smarter shoes too. I do hope David wears his shoes as much as Paul has. Last day for us tomorrow xx
Cars as well ! What a great time what with flowers everywhere and a car parade thrown in too. The roadsides are full of wild pink azaleas and big white lilies and a plant that looks like a delicate gladioli in white and pink. In some places banks of nasturtiums to name but a few. I think our azaleas will just be starting to flower when we get back ( Wednesday). Still ,May is a fantastic month in England. I can't wait to get out in the garden. Let's hope the weather lets me ! Thank you fir your marvellous photos. Love to you both xxx
Rain!!! Yes we woke to raon but it improved. We spent a few days in Jersey recently (never been before ) and there was an excellent gold medal class orchid place there. Can't remember what it was called but a great place to go if ever go there . Beautiful photos -thank you ! Ruth xx
Lucky you ! The festival sounds marvellous and the hotel displays are great. We are at the Terra Nostra, Azores, also Portuguese ! Here because of botanical garden it is set in , complete with geothermal lake and jacuzzis. Yes they really are hot ! Looking forward to even more flowers . Where are you staying? Ruthxx
Wonderful trip ! Thank you as always for your marvellous photographs and information. Hope David's foot has improved. Dreadful snowy conditions here so I do hope your flight is delayed for at least a week :) :) Ruth xx
Thank you Hi, we are now back safe & sound in chilly Bishop's Stortford. I arranged assistance for David on arrival in Gatwick. He is able to walk but of course very slowly with his Blister, remember he had a blister on our Balmoral cruise and we named it Bertie, well this one we banged Big Bertie. It's healing well and Dr. on the ship was brilliant. We just have to continue to have dressing changed now back home. Xx
Split I didn't realise Split was so steeped in history - I had only heard of it as a sunny holiday destination. Thanks yet again for your wonderful blogs and photographs. Our news is that we became grandparents for the first time on Saturday - a little girl , with no name as yet. Looking forward to the next installment of your travels . Love Ruth and Paul xx

Wonderful photos - what a gorgeous place. The views (and food) look fabulous and I loved the umbrella stand/holder.
