So I finnished school the other day and got my diploma. Another piece of paper i´ve recieved from some school that will do absolutely nothing for me. I could wallpaper my room with these. That´s not entirely true...my spanish is much better than when I first got here. Now I at least have some idea what the hell is going on. The last few days have been awsome. Met some really amazing Americans (can you believe that) and we had quite the piss-up my last night in Antigua. It also happened to be one of the American´s birthday so we went for a great dinner and some serious drinking. Red wine is a truly amazing and dangerous thing. On our way home from the bar the police stopped us on the street and started searching ... read more

Español Es Muy Dificil Today is my second day of Spanish school and my fourth day in Antigua. My day goes something like this: 1. Wake up to insane church bells that have no rythym and appear to go off at anytime not just on the hour. 2. Eat whatever bizarre food my host family puts in front of me. Today I swear it was gruel (but love her to death for trying). 3. Practice spanish for 4 hours with my maestra. And when I say practice I mean me sitting there looking at her confused. 4. Break. Eat more weird food from my host family. Usually some unkown vegetable that has been boiled beyond recognition (again...sweetest lady ever.) 5. Two more hours of sheer hell in school. Repite (please repeat that) and Que? (what?) ... read more

I Should Have Been Born In The Jungle! So the last week in Guatamala has been incredible. I finally got to Guatamala via Punta Gorda in Belize by the most dodgy boat ever. It was pouring and the boat was open so they put this tarp over us. I felt like a refugee. First off...the tarp had more holes than plastic so it was pretty futile. Second, the wind was so strong that I couldn´t hold the tarp down. Needless to say I got soaked. Got into Guatamala in a town called Livingston and spent about 2 hours there waiting for my next boat to take me up a river to Rio Dulce. The boat ride was wet (same kind of boat) but really beautifull. You go along these limestone walls and it is very ... read more

Please...No More Rum! Well...i'm slowly making my way down the coast of Belize. Caye Caulker was great. Spent way too much time soaked in rum but made a lot of friends and even managed to get some snorkelling in. Literally ate lobster for every meal. Really liked the Hol Chan marine reserve. Got to touch a stingray and swim with nurse sharks. The only bummer is that my underwater camera doesn't seem to like the water and it broke. So i'm camera-less until I can find somewhere to buy another one. Big boo. Left Caulker a few days ago to hit the Garifuna festival in Dangriga. What a shit-show. Non-stop party but not really in a good way. We stayed at this place that was ground zero for the party and listened to really bad ... read more

How Did My Bag Get So Heavy? So I fly out tomorrow and I've just packed my bags...pre-flight. I thought I was being so good and not bringing anything, but somehow my bag weighs more than a small child. Scratch that...a fat child that is awkward and a tad bit smelly (I attribute that to my last forray into Thailand). I'm just testing out this blog thing so that's it for now. Can't wait to be sitting on a beach...picking sand flies and tics out of my legs...... read more
