Harbin
It brings back my memory the place I visited. I've been to Harbin on group tour in the summer, I went out in short sleeves, what a great difference.... JinJiang Inn is a listing stock in HK, once I made some profit on its IPO. If I had not been having a tour to 重慶 in Nov. I could have joined you in Beijing. I back to LA just a few days, see you then.

colder than you expected
40' is warm , even Beijing colder than that. It is from 3F to -16F these few days. Most of the time are 0 and below. I need to go in the shopping center every few hours to keep the blood circulate.

it looks like an interesting place to visit...but i think it is a little too cold for me during the winter. i can not stand the cold weather in the (40's) in l.a. in order to keep warm in harbin, you need to keep moving....

Range of conditions
I need to get money and time worth the investment. I always doing something or just walk the city. Beijing is more to see than the Great Wall. It will take time to re-adjust when I returned.

Blog updated periodically
Log in every few days to check the update. I just posted the snow pictures a few days ago. It may snow again new week. The legal limit is turn on the central heat by Nov. 15. The government recommended people to turn on earlier since this year the cold come early. My apartment is still no heat, cold, cold and cold. Morning temperature is in the 20'. Even the people in the dorms complains the heater is not warm enough.

Why you didnot input Chinese character Yun in the title? One of most popular Chinese pinyin input methods is google pinyin. You can download one and install it in your computer. It would be very easier to input Chinese charaters.

Money Exchange
The best deal is use the ATM, Credit Union is the best no surcharge on any machine. HSBC is not bad but hard to find but their rate not as good as CU even on their own machine. HSBC on line savings ATM will work all over the world also. ATM is everywhere in China.

No Shower Tonight
Actually I can fix it my self if back home. The problem is the floor drain is no sealant around it. they just has a hole in the floor and put the drain in. Owner call contractor in, the guy need to get some laborer to do it. I do not think there is any Home Depot here. May be I become a contractor here too after I manage the language.
