The picture (oh so small) is from a Rugby League game at one of the stadiums in Sydney. It was one of my "social" activities that I have planned for my time in Sydney. Incase you can't tell... the beanie (oh gosh, speaking Aussie now!) says Roosters on it. I thought it was pretty cool so I had to have one. I'm kind of acquiring an article of clothing at every destination I come to. Clothing or an item... like my new Australia flag bag. To update... I'm not running out of money... yet, but things are expensive so I'm trying to not eat. Just kidding... I am definitely eating... but trying not to buy the filet mignon!

I don't know who all is actually reading this blog so if you do read it and you have the time, leave a comment on one of the blog entries. I love to show off my pictures (even if there are only a fraction **82/450** of them uploaded!) and see what you think about my trip thus far. I bet your jealous, huh?

Hey everyone!! Just wanted to let you all know one last time (before I'm back in the states) that I am on my way home. I am sitting in the Sydney Airport until 1:20pm when we take off for LAX! My flight from LAX leaves at 12:35 (LAX time) and arrives in Houston at 5:59pm then I leave Houston at 7:05pm arriving at BWI at 11:21pm tonight (08/04/08)... LONG TRIP! Total travel time from 5:00am this morning (Australia time) to 1:00am (US time on 08/05/08) ... is 35 hours or so. The trip has been amazing... definitely something to recommend to anyone who wants to hear my two cents. I will upload more pictures (from different times of the trip) to another post as soon as possible. ... I'm coming home!... read more

... and every penny that I spent was worth it! I just walked into the hotel room from the Reef Experience (and Reef Encounter) Great Barrier Reef cruise... truly a once in a lifetime experience... I'll have to get my thoughts together better in order to attempt to describe what it was like, but for now, I'll upload some pictures. I did buy an underwater camera as well as using Rebekah's disposable underwater camera because she bought a waterproof digital while she was in Sydney. YES! All the pictures uploaded... and I have more of the reef and fish and some turtles as well... they're on my disposable camera somewhere... so if I can get them developed at the beach, I can show everyone!!! Hey Everyone!!! I'm sorry it's been so long since I've updated... I actually had to go back to see what I told you all about and what pictures I've uploaded already. Bad me, I know! So... since the Dolphin Trip/Blue Mountains Tour weekend, it's been go go go! The pictures in the post before this correlate (somewhat) with what this post is about... so maybe two and two won't be so hard to put together. I hope! I'll also upload a ton of pictures to this post as well... you'll be able to see that though! July 22nd 2008 -- The entire Tourism and Recreation Management group had a presentation at Sydney Wildlife World and then Rebekah and I went to lunch, to see the new Batman on the IMAX screen (the biggest in the world) ... read more

Hey everyone! I just got back from my Blue Mountains trip... I have to say that the mountains were not that blue, but that's because it wasn't humid... the Eucalyptus trees are what casts the blue haze in the air, I guess the oil in them? We stopped at Featherdale Animal Zoo (I forget the exact name, it's in the pictures!) and I bring pictures of Kangaroos and Koalas! I know everyone's been looking for them... ha ha. Once we were done at the zoo, we stopped in a little town for lunch and then headed to the outlook where we saw the Three Sisters (part of the Blue Mountains) as well as the rest of the mountains. We then went to various platforms around the area and took tons of pictures, of course! My picture ... read more

Well.. just got back from the pool... YAY! I swam 700 meters in 30 minutes (might have been a little less) which turns out to be about 4 minutes and 30 seconds per 100 meters. Not too bad for the first time I've been in a pool in a LONG TIME! Mom - You need to get swimming... it takes it out of you!! My arms hurt, my back hurts, my right knee hurts... but I'm happy none-the-less. I thought it was going to be much worse than that... :) So as the Title of the blog says, this is just a picture update... on what we've done since I updated last.... read more

July 12th 2008

Hey guys! Don't know what kind of update this is going to be... haven't done much this past week because we've had a lot of classes. So this was the first real weekend that we had to go out and explore so today we walked to The Rocks Markets and then went into a museum and then walked across the Bridge. We didn't climb the bridge, just walked across the bridge to the other side, which is just as much of a spectacular view if you ask me. The only thing you don't see from the walkway on the bridge is the tops of buildings. AND... it was free! That's my kind of activity!!! So once we walked to the other side of the Harbor, we went to a little amusement park to just walk around. ... read more

Incase anyone is interested in calling... Purchase a phone card. Follow the instructions to call... Well... we flew into Sydney yesterday afternoon. Six plane rides down... I don't know how many to go! It's second nature now either way! I'm losing track of what all I've let you guys in on and what I haven't... looks like I just updated you guys on Kakadu National Park. So since then... we've had a free day, went to see Lucky Miles (a stupid movie) at a Deckchair Cinema (just what it says it is...) where their possums (no 'o') were walking around, which was probably the best part of the movie, and then got up at 4:00 in the morning the following day to depart for Alice Springs. This is the more fun part, I guess you could say. We landed in Alice Springs after about an hour and a half flight (flight ... read more

@ 11:06pm on July 1, 2008 I’m safe and sound (no crocodile attacks!) back in my bed listening to fireworks being shot off for Northern Territory Day (and typing this on my computer to copy and paste into my travel journal tomorrow) and I have to say that it feels great to be back in a bed. We got back from Kakadu National Park around 6:30pm after three stops and a really long (about 5 hour) bus ride home. Kakadu was a great experience… we got up around 6:00am in order to catch the bus out of the Alatai at around 7:00am. The bus was a nice one… it was a Greyhound Australia coach bus… so a lot of people slept on the way to our destination. Our first stop on Sunday morning was at a ... read more

I got everyone's comments on my pictures... I didn't realize how pretty the pictures of the sunsets were until I just now looked at them. I took at least 50 pictures of both the sunset and the didgeridoo guy to make sure that I got a COUPLE decent looking pictures. We are headed into Kakadu National Park tomorrow morning (google it)... the bus leaves at 6:50am. We'll be there through Tuesday and then head back here for two days before flying to Alice Springs and then driving to Uluru. Lots of traveling but that's okay because apparently camels are supposed to be prevelent in the desert and they like to lay in the middle of the road at dusk, so in route to Uluru, we may see a camel or two! I'll have more updates on ... read more
