We changed out of our travel clothes met our friends and started off for the Coliseum and Forum. From the hotel it was a short walk to the Forum in the old city. We bought a museum pass that would get us into various sites around town at a discounted rate or free. The only word I can use to describe the experience of walking through ancient Rome is awesome. The weather was perfect, considering the original indication was rain. We spent three hours walking the ruins; we could have spent an entire day. On the way back we started our travel indulgences with a bottle of white wine at a little alley restaurant….Ahhh a relaxing moment. Back to the hotel to change and then head off to our dinner reservations. Still no luggage. Okay another ... read more

The food was good; I had the special lamb stew, and then proceeded to try all the wines in an effort to help with sleeping. Didn’t work very well for me, I slept for a couple hours, Vikki did much better. Our first international port was Charles de Gaule, Paris. I have been to this airport three times and I still can’t stand it. As you transfer through the airport your route takes you through tubes up and over roadways and across sections of airport. Vikki refers to them as habit trails that we used to build for our hamsters. We circled the airport twice and ... read more

We start our trip to Italy tomorrow, 17 hours of flying. This will be our first time to Italy. We will be meeting friends in Rome, spend a couple days there and then leave for Venice to meet up with two more couples. Two days in Venice and then off to Tuscany, specifically an area about 15 minutes north of Siena. We will be in Tuscany for a week and then home on July 5th.
