A few possible subjects for your kids to write about: Obama (with his African background they're probably fascinated by him); Michael Jackson (I bet they know about him even there - or at least they know Jackson Michael); Tanzania music and culture (see http://www.tanserve.com/culture/index_files/bandsTanzania.htm so you'll know what the kids are listening to).
