Entries Don't worry about your entries being mundane. This is some great stuff. This is great that you can share your experiances with you. I almost feel that I am there with you. For me, this may be the closest for me to getting to the Asian continent. Keep doing what you are doing. You should write that novel. I will buy a copy (as long as you autograph my copy).

Alvin! I just wanted to let you know that my very good friend Mara Ghadimi is ALSO at Kansai Gaidai this semester! I told her about you , so she's gonna try to look you up! She's from New Mexico also and is also living with a host family...anyway, hope you guys can meet maybe. Take care! And it was nice to "talk" to you last night!

Stairs "there are so many stairs in this country, at first it was funny..."
hahah Nice! Although I think the stairs are what attributed to me losing basically 1 pound per day during my 10 day visit.
o.o Oh jeez. Holy crap. Why are you the luckiest man in the world and why am I in the army? XD Just goes to show you, kids, stay in school and don't join the army!!

We are very proud of you Alvin Thanks for such nice pictures, and a detailed journal. I enjoyed reading the entries. We all miss you ,and we look forward to your coming home. Much Love Auntie Arnetha
Hey Looks like you\\\\\\\'re having fun =) A lot better than sitting around near Austin where the biggest adventure is the new Wal-mart supercenter. Keep traveling around and taking day trips. I expect to visit Japan vicariously through you.
WOW!! Hey, Alvin!!! What's up? I just had time to run into your journal -- you know, life as an RA is somewhat tough these days ( helped take care of an emergency last night over some alcohol poisoning ... normal life ).
I'm AMAZED at the pictures!!! They're gorgeous and quite some sights to see! Thanks a bunch again for letting me in on your BLOG. I'm really impressed and hope that you're having a wonderful time at Japan so far. It sounds like it's a lot of work, but what I wouldn't trade to be in your shoes this instand. : >
Thanks again for the updates! The pics are absolutely amazing and I await hearing more of your adventures.

Fun Times Hey Alvin,
I'm glad to see that you're enjoying yourself. I'm enjoying your entries, and I hope the rest of your stay in Japan is as enjoyable as these past few days seem to have been for you!

Konnichiwa! Hello there! I'm another student at Kansai this term. I've been keeping a blog too, and one of my former teachers sent me an e-mail with your blog address in it to see if I knew you. Actually, I think i mighta stood in front of you at class registration. Were you number 407? If you wanna chat sometime just let me know. My blog is at http://chaseinjapan.blogspot.com Jyane!
wow! I'm impressed that you were able to teach yourself Japanese at all! I have a friend who has been studying it at school for several semesters and I hear it's quite hard. I think anything you know is amazing!
I hope your trip is still going well!
Vending machines Haha yeah, I remember sometimes those vending machines being on the side of the road outside of the city just sitting there with no building around or any kind of protection. They always had like 20 or 30 drinks and half of them were different varieties of tea. Milk tea, green tea, this tea, that tea, other tea, monkey tea...
Anyways, have fun!
