Suitcase It seems to me the suitcase seems contrite, sitting by it's lonesome self there in an empty hall way. It had a separate adventure that never will be revealed. Povera viligia. (* = *)
Additions to Anita's goals. I would like to add-also take photos of people and talk to as many Italians as possible to improve my proficiency in the language. Whoohoo!! 2 weeks and 2 days to go.!!
Buon viaggio.
Traveling with Us Knowing you were checking in on us made the trip way more meaningful. I looked at things through your eyes as well as mine and that expanded my view. Thanks for traveling with us.
Miss the photos Hope the chip works soon, the pictures are almost as good as being there. Has Rosa commented on the weather, is this average for Bergamo at this time of year?
Milano! It was here that Stanley and I met; your photos are wonderful, evoking good memories. Not sure if it was the canal you captured, but we had a romantic dinner alongside the water somewhere, one evening. There were all sorts of shops, stands and stalls selling various items, some touristy, some not. Those innovative check-outs have been here in the UK for several years, along with chip and pin (for credit and debit card use). Wonder why we don't use either?
Missed the Whole Thing We were in a quiet museum and knew nothing about it. Thanks for the heads-up. I think we'll be in that neighborhood today. We'll see if it's still there.
enjoying your trip Things are rather tense here in anticipation of Floyd's surgery next wee. Your blog is a welcome diversion! Keep it coming. I love travel, even the armchair kind.
love,

Train Ride That line is not one I've not been on. Am looking forward to reading about the sights along the way, didn't realize it was a long trip. Many years ago, Charlie and I hiked through some wine towns of the Alba region, we had changed trains at Cuneo. Very small, old cars with real windows and I rode along with my head out the window and hair blowing. I think you go through that area, but am not positive. Did you travel to Milan via Torino?
Splendid photos Makes us wish we were there. The bike riding was intriguing-did you have to ride much in traffic?
Julia, anything different about San Remo food, compared to your southern Italian repasts? Couldn't resist!
Bikes & Food I did not, and would not, ride in traffic. I'm strictly a bike path girl!
I'm enjoying the food here more than other places, but that is because l have my gourmet sister to guide me.
Glad you are following along and commenting.
Remembering Nice Hi Julia and Anita,
Am enjoying your blog, great photos, more please. Thought of my first visit to Nice, pebbles and all, in those days I was quite the sun lounger and found the Nice beach accoutrements heavenly - soft blue cushions, drinks on the beach and seafood on the terrace. Didn't manage to find a beau on that trip however.
My landlady at the 2 star pension was from Iran, and we had been talking of life and travel. She was sad that she could never return home and I, dumb American that I was, hadn't fully grasped that followers of the Shah had to leave and would never return. Am looking forward to San Remo.
