Day 1- Legian, Bali- Indonesia

So here we are!

Arrived at Denpasar last night at 9.30pm after a short 6 hour flight from melbourne. Have to say upon first glance that Bali was not quite what we expected. We arrived at the motel (down a lone back alley off Legian beach) at $45 AUD per night we knew not to expect too much from the place but were still disturbed to find that we had been given a dive of a room on the front of a noisy street, a smellymouldy bathroom and bed sheets with yellow stains all over them.... Yuck!! Of course I completely freaked out and asked for a room move. How precious right! 😊 Staff were very helpful though and moved us to a quite room off the back overlooking the pool. Was alot cleaner too!

We decided to go for a walk around (by this time it was after 11pm) and low and behold Peter with a map, geez did we get lost.... It was quite an adventure though, wandering around the dark streets for almost 3 hours trying to get back to the motel! Was seriously like trying to find a needle in a haystack.

We were pretty relieved to have found it in the end, after much frustration... Could you imagine! 😊

So today being our first actual DAY we did a little more walking around.Sussing out the tourists bartering with the locals, to ensure we aren't getting ripped off with prices. Although SO much cheaper than thailand, if you could even imagine... And locals are so friendly and smiley. Strolled down to the beach, what beautiful weather, a little muggy, but nethertheless a nice sunny day. Will book some tours soon. Have met a real nice guy called Henry who promises to give us the best prices (I bet were the first he has said that to) lol

So in a weeks time, or sooner if there is anything interesting happening I will blog again!
