Day one in Udaipur and all is good so far.

Can heartily recommend Jet airways... loads of leg room and yummy curries. Got slightly hairy at Deli airport though... despite having 2 and a half hours between flights. I hadn't antcipated the level of beaurocracy and the amount of time it would take to travel the 200 meters between the international and regional terminals!

Got a lift in a jeep bus from the airport to my new home for a month. Only slowed briefly to allow a large herd of goats across the dual carriage way!

House is a huge airy building, set out over 3 levels. I am sharing a room with Paula from Edinburgh who also arrived today. We even have a shower... so no bucket baths for me.

Looking forward to my first true Indian curry tonight and will report back.

Your new place looks nice - proper little holiday home, not what I expected, thought you would be in a bit more ramshackle place in the middle of nowhere! Sure you will have loads of fun with your new house mates - especially the aussies, they certainly know how to have a good time! Hope the first true curry doesn't come back to haunt you!
