The trail has ben blasted through the cliff face here.
We have arrived in Upper Pisang after a superb trek today through some marvellous scenery. The walk was a lot easier than either of us expected, we managed to get away at 8am sharp and arrived Pisang around 2.30 with the usual lengthy 90 minute lunch stop. More and more snow capped peaks are revealing themselves now and on arrival in Pisang Annapurna II dominates the skyline. 100m above Pisang is Upper Pisang across the river and up a steep staircase up the hillside. We are now at 3300m, nearly 11,000ft and that extra 100m really hurt. It was worth the effort however as much more of Annapurna II is revealed up here. Even with the wispy afternoon clouds which form around the peaks it looks quite spectacular, a huge wall of ice rising up above the surrounding hills of Pisang.

Tommorow we move up to Manang where we will take a rest and acclimatisation day in preperation for the challenge of Throng La Pass at 5416m, just under 18,000 ft!
