Tuesday Morning we woke up early ready to set sail for Koh Lipe, one of Thailands most southernly Islands. We rocked up to the harbour waiting for our promised speedboat. Then we waited some more and then some more (is anyone else getting the picture here?). Finally we were escorted to the pier where we jumped into a little boat to be shipped to the main transport.....however speedboat it was not!! I think we had been done!!! To be fair though the Tigerline ferry only took about an hour and a half to get us to Lipe.

We arrived in paradise! The seas were crystal clear, the sun was shining and the beach looked idylic. The water taxis transported us to the immigration office, where we picked up our passports grabbed a map and decided where to head for accomodation. As beautiful as the main 'Pattaya Beach' was it was full of longtail taxi boats and was rather noisy. So we headed round the island to Sunrise Beach. We went round the whole island as we were the last to be dropped off, which was nice as we got to see the whole island in all its glory. We were dropped off right next to Gipsy bungalows, which we had chosen and managed to get a bamboo hut very near the beach complete with hammock, private outdoor private and a large fan all for 400 Baht about 8 pound. Awesome considering we were told the whole island was expensive, this certainly was not. The seas are crystal clear and the sands are fine and white, palm trees line the beach providing much needed shade during the midday heat - paradise. I would definetley recommend this place to anyone, it has such a chilled atmosphere and if you're travelling on a buget then accomodation can be found cheap if you look - we were completely gutted we only had one night here after thinking it would eat away at our budget 😞

The island has a central pathway cutting through from Pattaya beach, where you can reach both sunset and sunrise beach, just a 10 - 15 minute walk. It is walkable don't believe the guys on the beach who say you must get a taxi, then charge you 200baht! The walk is scattered with bars and resraunts, shops and cafes all reasonably priced.

We spent the day just relaxing in the sunshine wishing we were staying longer. After a wonderful day and a relaxing evening we headed back to our bamboo hut for a much needed sleep ready for our early 'speedboat' ride to Koh Lanta.

Advice to anyone: Do not Miss Koh Lipe spend a few nights here!
