Luang Prabang is the second biggest city in Laos and it is the most important in historical prospective. City architecture and culinary influenced greatly by the French colonial period and some streets looks like they were taken from French-German areas of Europe. People are nice as everywhere in Laos and the weather is even better then in Vientiane and Vang Vieng.

In addition to endless number of wats located all over the city one can visit the royal palace that since the beginning of communist era is was converted into a museum that supposed to teach locals about the dark time before the revolution. Except this idea (that wasn't said loud) it is almost impossible to find any evidences of the Communist regime in the city.

All at all, the central part of the city looks like a small french town that mistakenly was build in Asia and populated by local people that constructed Buddhist temples all around. To make it even more colorful there is mountain/hill in the middle of the city that provides 360 degrees view of the surrounding area including the rivers and mountains that beyong the city. The way up the hill is populated by endless number of Buddha statues in different positions, sizes and colours.

Tomorrow i am (with some other tourist-friends) planing to visit one of the waterfalls near the city.
