A day in the clouds

It was a rainy day today and the clouds were so low we were walking through them. We had a slow start and had breakfast at our hotel. We thought we'd do a bit of shopping so grabbed the umbrella and headed out up the muddy road. They are putting the street wiring underground so it's currently a bit of a mess. We met Glenn and Su at the noodle Shop and discussed the wedding preparations before walking to the lake and market. On the way we met Su's niece La La with her son Xian and further up met her sister Song. We found a nice restaurant overlooking the lake for lunch and then wandered through SaPa back to the hotel looking at the shops as we went. Later we met Glenn and Su at the wedding venue where they also have a nice room for a couple of days. We had a nice dinner at Geckos Restaurant which is owned by a friend of Glenn and Su.

Hi Kerry, I've just read your first three blogs, and look forward to reading more about Sapa. We were there in 2009 and it sounds like it has changed a great deal since then, which is to be expected I suppose when it's the gateway to such a beautiful part of Vietnam.
