Mai Linh taxi is a famous brand name in Vietnam. The taxi is painted with green and white colors. This shot was taken in Pleiku when I was traveling in the central highlands.
This blog contains photos of vehicles, aircrafts, tourist boats, airports, bus and railway stations in Vietnam. You can find all types of means of transport in Vietnam, except subway which is still in the future plan. In the big cities there are millions of motorbikes, plus taxis, buses and cars, while cyclos and bicycles are minority. There used to be tram way, but it was no longer used since the 1990s.

Each province also has its own special vehicles or boats as you see some photos in this blog.

Tourists can use Open Tour Bus system which allows you to get on and off on the route. Other choices are train, local bus and air plane.

Some major means of transport in Vietnam

Aircrafts: Boeing, Air Bus, ATR72, Fokker, Bombadier, and helicopters

Buses: Now most of the bus companies are private owned.

Train: Vietnam has a north - south railway system

Cars / Trucks / Pickups

Taxis: Taxis are available in most of the cities/towns in Vietnam except the mountain region and Côn Đảo island.

Motorbikes: This is the most useful means of transport and they are used for carrying humans, animals,

In major tourist cities/towns/sites like Hạ Long bay, the Perfurme Pagoda in Hanoi, Ninh Bình, the Perfume River in Huế, Cù Lao Chàm in Hôi An, Nha Trang, the Mekong Delta, there are boats with different sizes, shapes and decorations.

Airports in Vietnam

Seven international airports are located in Hanoi (Noi Bai int'l airport), Da Nang (Da Nang int'l airport), Cam Ranh (Cam Ranh int'l airport), HCM city (Tan Son Nhat int'l airport), Da Lat (Lien Khuong int'l airport), Can Tho (Can Tho int'l airport) and Phu Quoc island (Phu Quoc int'l airport).

Other airports from north to south are located in Hai Phong, Dien Bien Phu, Thanh Hoa, Vinh, Dong Hoi, Hue, Chu Lai, Quy Nhon, Tuy Hoa, Pleiku, Buon

The bus in Hanoi is painted with red and yellow colors. Each city in Vietnam has a bus system.
