inedible eyeballs

i discovered that squid eyeballs are inedible. they are quite hard! i went to a food stall in the market and requested (pointed at) squid. she put it into hot water for less than one minute and served it to me. i tasted it (perhaps half-heartedly) and gave it back telling her i wanted it cooked better. in the meantime i ate the rice. the squid was better but i must admit that i didn't eat all of it, and the portion was too generous.
