Dear Family & Friends, Last month I spent a week in Vietnam and Cambodia; two incredible, developing countries with violent histories. the next day, we went to the Cu Chi Tunnels; a network of tunnels stretching 75 miles where the Vietcong lived and fought for over 30 years.

the Vietnamese refer to the war as the American War. I assume the same could be true in Iraq & Afghanistan.

she was traveling on her own so we bummed around with her most of the day.

my inner entomologist came out. it was fascinating to see all the wild insects they have in their jungle.

it was an intense, albeit depressing, museum with shocking photographs. if you go to Ho Chi Minh, it is a must-do.

as we were checking out, Geoff tried to explain that we only were going to pay for 1 night instead of 2 nights since the hotel locked us out. we learned an important lesson; theres no reasoning or bargaining when the business you are speaking with has your passports as collateral.
