While jogging this morning we realized how much our way of breathing has changed since our dives. While under water we breathe slow and deep and as a result we seem to be using more of our lung capacity outside of the water as well. Cool!
After breakfast we looked at extending our visa for 30 days. We were expecting to pay another US$100, but to our delight our hotel could arrange it for only US$50 in total! Now we don't have to leave Vietnam yet!
We battled to upload another blog then went and booked another two dives for the next day. We can't wait! We've made friends with the dive shop staff, especially a lady named Tu. Talita had her laughing till she nearly cried. She was laughing so hard she couldn't count our change (Talita wasn't even trying). Anyway... We'd like to get as much practice as we can since we're considering doing our Advanced Open Water Course in Thailand. We'll have to wait and see how our finances last though.
After lunch we battled through yet another blog so we could get up to date. We don't know if it's the
connections here or if Travelblog's servers are suffering but we have to add one picture at a time and sometimes it takes like five tries before one will upload. It's a pain but still worth it. It's really testing the little patience Ferdi has for technology that won't work (anyone remember the mobile phone he threw, jumped on then shot 15 times for not sending his sms's? :-)
After the battle was won and with no shooting or throwing of technological equipment we went to the beach for a well deserved swim.
At the first place we wanted to have dinner they had Shark fin soup on the menu so we went to the Mexican joint down the road. There's no way we're gonna support a place that helps to create a market for Shark fins!
We played the worlds longest game of pool and Talita won. We went home to watch a movie on TV and get some sleep for the dive the next day.
Today's highlights:
1. Arranging to have our visas extended.
2. Catching up on the blog.
3. Talita finally won the pool game.

The dive today was
amazing. The area we dove in is a marine park so you dive with a guide. Our first dive was at South Beach. We saw a few red Lion Fish and one black one, trumpet fish, Clown fish, a big Puffer Fish and lots more.
Our second dive was at MorayBeach and here we dived to 18m, the deepest we've gone and also the depth limit for our certification. We saw two medium sized Octopus. The one immediately camouflaged itself but the other one didn't mind us and continued about its business. Ferdi saw a small eel and Talita spotted three small squid swimming in formation near the boat. We also saw a funny fish that had what looked like a horn that it lifted as we approached.
Matt, our guide, and Ferdi nearly peed their pants/wetsuits (Talita didn't even realize) when someone not too far off went dynamite fishing. Only in Vietnam (and probably the US) will someone fish with dynamite in/near a marine protected area!
We loooove diving. It's such an awesome feeling to float weightless and everywhere you look there's something interesting and new to see. It's great!
After swimming and hanging out on
the beach, and since it's Friday, we grabbed a couple of free beers at the Sailing Club. We got a voucher when we finished our scuba course.
We had a couple of cocktails with dinner, our version of getting wild on a Friday night!
Today's highlights:
1. Diving to 18m.
2. Seeing the two Octopus.
