Dear Readers - We finally have access to a PC with a USB port so we can download pictures of Nha Trang. We are now in Ha Long Bay at the Halong Plaza Hotel. Hope you enjoy our pictures. We will write more later about Ha Long Bay as this is our first day here. Am looking forward to hooking up with Claire Hall (Soul Cultivator) who is an excellent travel blog writer from England. Jim has been following her blogs for over a year. If you get the opportunity check our her travel blog - Soul Cultivator.

This is a common fishing boat found in Vietnam. It is a waterproof hand woven basket about 6 feet in diameter. It carries a lot of fine net and fish. During the Vietnam war Jim's ship checked hundreds of these boats for countraband.

Hey Ned, Good to hear from you. We are now in Ha Long Bay by Hanoi. I failed in finding Forester but in digging deeper into the web, found someone to contact in V.N. who was aboard herin the 90's as an officer. Will follow up on that when I get back State Side. Your comments Re: Nam are rite on. The place is a lot nicer than in the War. Prices are decent and food great. Will keep in touch. Oh, Ann has been my XO for almost 30 years now; yep, she's a keeper...... Jim

Hi - glad to hear you are getting bites on the house. We are sure it will sell fast. The weather is rainy tonight but it was hot all day. Went out on a tour of Ha Long Bay today and had a good time. We had the boat to ourselves as there were about 300 other boats carrying 1 to 50 couples. See the pictures we are adding to a blog. Stay in touch. Love you, Jim and Ann
