Well Hello all from Mui ne Vietnam!
We arrived in Mui ne following a 5 hour bus ride from Nha trang. On our way we stopped at a garage which had loads of different types of birds in cages laura ran back to the bus to get me to have a look, when I arrived I noticed a monkey was hanging on the wall right above the toilet Laura had just used, she hadn't spotted him at all. It would of made a really good story if he had jumped down beside her when she was doing her business you might of heard all the way back in Dublin haha!
We got checked into our hostel Mui ne backpackers which is only recently done up, our room is really nice and very modern. The back of the hostel goes straight out onto the beach were there are dozens of people learning to wind surf and kite surf.
We booked a trip with our hostel to go and see the white and the red sand dunes. We set off at 2pm in our old land rover and we were first taken to the "fairy stream" which is basically a stream that
is at the back of a few houses that we walked bare foot through for a few hundred meters, funny what they class as tourist attractions! We then stopped of at a fishing village! Which was a smelly bay full of deserted boats. We could only hope that the dunes would be even a lil better! The white dunes were first, while here we hired a piece of plastic to do some sand boarding but be warned once you go down its a very slow and tiring process to get back up. Every step you make you just slide further and further back but it was some fun going down! Our next stop was at the red dunes to see the sun set with a nice cold beer! Well deserved me thinks after all that climbing. It wasn't the clearest of days and without a proper camera the photos did not turn out great.
We met some nice people who were staying in our hostel and we had a good night out with the lot of them in a local club! When it came time to leave there were no taxis to take us home so me and laura
had to get on the back of moto taxi which is a scooter taxi to take us back to the hostel. Laura informed me the next morning that it wasn't as great as I had thought haha!
Mui ne was not the beach paradise we were expecting, there were hardly any bars or restaurants and the beach was tiny and not at all clean. We did enjoy relaxing for the few days but unless your into wind or kite surfing there is nothing else really to do here!!
We're of to pack, we head to Saigon tomorrow to stay with Laura's aunties sister Helen and her family, really looking forward to a hot powerful shower lol
Chat soon!!!
