transport in vietnam
Our second day in Saigon. We had a good breakfast and at eight o'clock we were picked up for the tour. Just another two people, that were Americans. We visited an interesting church. It dates from 1920 and is called CAO DAOISM. A combination of Buddism,Christianity, Islam, Taoism and Confucioism. They pray for four hours a day for an hour, because the ceremony sstarted at noon, we had an early lunch to be there on time. It was at a private house. As entree,it was rice paper dipped in water and filled with pork, egg and vegies and various other food where we had no idea what it was, but it tasted okay. Fruit was always dessert. It was very primitive in a local atmosphere and cooked by an eighty year old lady. At the Temple we could Video and make photos. The interesting thing was, remember in the earlier Catholic church, the women were sitting left and the men right and this was here also the case. With different head dress, that has something to do with the rank. The instruments they play were like a sliding guitar and continuous singing is done by all. It was a lovely expierience. It was

a long drive to the Viet Cong tunnels, which go for hundreds of kilometres. The obligatory movie is a must and is full of propaganda. But more about that later.
