Fortunately, I have survived the hottest summer with pimples all over my face. Now autumn is the favorite season for me and all Hanoians. The weather from September to December is always very pleasant. The sun shines during the day and it's cool at night. Due to the El Nino, it's warmer this year. I spent 3 hours walking along the bridge on 10 Oct (Hanoi's Liberation Day) and saw 2 trains running along the rail line of the bridge.

After over 100 years, the bridge is still in good condition. It was heavily destroyed during the American war because of the bomb. Trains run every day along the rail line on the bridge.

A middle aged man and a young boy are drawing quick portraits (Vẽ truyền thần) with pencils for two women. Each portrait like this costs VND 50,000 (US$2.8).

10/10/2010 will be the day for the Great Ceremony of the 1,000th Anniversary of Hanoi city. This shot was taken on 10/9/2009 and the clock, which counts down from 1,000 to 0, showed "365 days to go".

The seller is checking the weight of "Cốm" (young sticky rice of green color) with her scale and packing it with a lotus leaf and string. The Vòng village in Hanoi is famous for making this type of rice and it's only sold in September and October. This rice can be eaten with banana, or used to make sweet soup, or cakes for the engagement ceremonies.
