Made it to Hanoi!

Hello family and friends!

We made it to Hanoi! After way too many hours on an airplane (about 30 hours!) we stepped foot onto Vietnam's soil. ahh. so begins our adventures. Richard is scoping out potential for his PhD research in two weeks and Beth is on her fist adventure across the big ocean.

Our first day in Hanoi was amazing. the whole day was a visual event. Last night was busy in the old french quarter market. concerts, street shows and lots of young people milling around. my favorite sight was seeing a man riding a bicycle with a popcorn popper on the back and bags of popcorn for sale. eventhough we still stand out, there are lots of tourists. however, we still feel like giants.
